Bill to double US MS research funding $10 million passes House, headed for Senate

This is from an e-mail notice from the National MS Society Advocacy Action Network (June 19):

    Quote
With support from MS activists, yesterday the [US House of Representatives] agreed to an amendment that would double MS research funding for Fiscal Year 2015 in the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). This amendment increased funding from $5 million to $10 million—the largest amount to date!

Rep. Barbara Lee's speech in support of the amendment can be seen here: Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...

It still has to pass the Senate, however.

      Support Needed!

Get in touch with your senator and ask they support this bill. You can e-mail or call their number to ask for support for the bill. It still has to pass the Senate.

If it does pass, lets hope it doesn't end up being spent on pay raises, and vacations, and well, you know the story. A cure will hurt big pharma, but will give many the chance to work, and pay taxes, and live a normal life.

a tiny pittance, considering the size of the whole budget...... but yes, good news.

Yeah, especially since they spend more on their local pet projects!
