I have a question to pose to all of you: How would you respond to participating in a study that used your Smartphone (if you have one) to "ping you" several times a week for a week or two to have you answer questions about how you feel at that given moment? This study is looking at effective ways to follow PWMS throughout the course of illness (or exacerbation or remission) to see if there is damage that can be evidenced through this type of communication that may not be captured in an actual clinic visit. There would be no compensation for participation.

How many have Smartphones that could be pinged and answers returned?

If you do have Smartphone, do you have plan limitations where this type of communication might increase your plan cost?

Are you too busy in your job or life to participate in something of this nature?

Would you welcome the opportunity to be involved in this type of study?

I can't use mine for much. It's not totally stupid but definitely not the smartest.

My phone isn't known for being very smart at all. In fact there are times when I wish it would stop trying to seem smarter than it is. It's definitely not a smartphone.

I have a captioned landline phone, and my cellphone is a TracFone that I use only to make outgoing calls. I'm sure it couldn't ping anyone.

I'm afraid I haven't moved with the times when it comes to phones.

I see all these people on their phones and I feel like Stranger in a Strange Land if anyone has read that book.
          SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

No smart phone here either, just the basics. I hate cell phones, but have one just for emergencies so I can call hubby if I need him and so he can check up on me when he's away.
I know what you mean about feeling like a stranger in a strange land, Agate. I feel like I'm living in the Dark Ages!

I am in Cherie. However I have not moved up to a smartphone....yet. I can make calls and send and receive texts. Most of the time I am home and have my laptop. But if I can help I would be glad to.
