Interesting. My mom developed Alzheimer's, and my sister and I have her features like blue eyes. But my brother has my dad's features like brown eyes. So he's safer from getting Alzheimer's or this insulin problem.

Where did eye color come into this or Alzheimer's? Am I missing something or are you testing us to see if we even read this stuff, Howie?

No, but this report touched on Alzheimer's, and my sister and I have many of mom's genetic traits like blue eyes, so we stand more prone to also develop Alzheimer's like mom did. Does that seem logical?

I have brown eyes. I'll probably get something different.

Eye color has nothing to do with it. (rubbing his forehead) Surely everyone, looks wise, looks like one parent, or the other. That's due to genes.

If the parent you look most like has, lets say heart trouble, then you MIGHT also be prone to heart trouble because you share many genes they have.

No one in both lines of my family ever had MS. But many with MS, have a family member in either blood line, had MS.

I'm the first one in my family to have MS too. Guess we're just lucky.

Possibly but not necessarily Howie. We are made up of the DNA of both parents so, while we might favor one over the other as far as appearance, the other may contribute genetic propensities for an illness or condition. Unfortunately, all 4 of my grandparents had chronic illnesses. Both parents were obese and hypertensive. Both of my parents and two of my grand parents were diabetic. All 6 of my siblings have issues with weight and blood pressure and 5 of them have diabetes. Both grandfathers and my father died of cancers as well as my father's mother. My mother's mother had her first of many strokes in her 50s. Because of the strong family history of diabetes, this study would indicate that myelin damage may be a familial predisposition as elevated blood sugars and myelin damage have now shown a correlation with each other.

Oh my...I think I sprained my brain. Back to resting like I am supposed to.

Hi Cherie! Sneaking in on me again? Now go rest your brain, I thought I saw smoke coming out of your ears.
