    Weakened immune system

I just read Jeannies theory that MS is not due to revved up immune system, but rather a weakened immune system that cannot protect our myelin from attacks,

I have a faulty immune system, my IGG-1 and IGG-2 levels are too low.

    How about you?

Well, I have to agree with a revved up immune system. I personally NEVER get sick. I never get flu shots, no need. But that's just me.

I'm not sure anyone knows for sure just what MS does to the immune system. But they're working on it, and that has to be good. At least some people are taking an interest, making an effort.

If you have some other condition along with MS, like diabetes, it's hard to know what's going on.

How your immune system behaves may have something to do with whether or not you're having a flareup of the MS, too. Maybe the immune system is revved up when the MS is just sitting there but it's depressed when you're having MS symptoms or an exacerbation, maybe even during a pseudo-exacerbation. Or vice versa.

Do those mice have immune systems like ours?

There is a reason for using mice in experiments. They have many genetic traits that humans have. But there are also differences. As for how we differ in our immune response, I really don't know, and it appears researchers don't either. They make huge strides with the mouse brand of MS, but then the same treatment doesn't work for humans.

Now excuse me, I need some cheese.

This type seems to be among the favorites for MS research:

Me too! I never get sick ...I have never had a flu shot either.
I never really thought about it before.
              I just get MS exacerbations.

If it's chocolate mice, they're hard to send in the mail. The mail carrier or somebody might accidentally put the package on top of a heater and the poor things would melt. But it's a mice thought.

I tend never to get colds or flu. I agree with ramped up rather than suppressed in my case.

Maybe cause the mice cant say NO!

I never thought about the immune system not being able to protect our myelin. Interesting theory.
