Keep this up, Howie, and you'll be the Post Mostie here!

Rose, this MS board has had some major migrations too. You read people's posts for weeks, even years, and then they're gone--of course you have to wonder how they are.

I'm afraid the Internet makes it very easy to disappear.

Agate, you hold the title of "Post Mostie" on this forum.

      DOH, I did it again!!!

Howie, you're eligible for the title of "Thread-bumper".

Titles can be good. They can get you new carpeting, for instance. Years ago there was an ad for a type of carpeting known as Bigelow. "A title on the door rates a Bigelow on the floor."

Today I realized that I forgot Ann in my list of people I've known a long time. Darn MS causing forgetfulness.

New carpeting, agate?? I'd love to get new carpet, but until then I at least need my carpet cleaned. My apartment has this smell to it. I vacuum all the time, but the smell doesn't diminish like I hoped it would, time to get them cleaned.

          :sigh:

Craig Mattice is not doing well at all. He has a brain tumor on top of the supranuclear palsy that was diagnosed when they realize what was happening was too aggressive for MS. Had a couple of strokes last year and that's when they found the brain tumor. He says he has "mini-comas" that last a day or two where he is not rousable and has no memory of what happened. Last communication was about 4 months ago. He was still at home in a hospital bed with Lift, electric chair, and eye operated software as voice was no longer reliable enough for communication. He can talk on the phone for a few minutes before uncontrollable coughing and is extremely difficult to understand. Unfortunately Joyce is having to work full time for their health insurance so he is dependent on aids for personal care then is alone for several hours a day. Even military and Police Pensions are not enough to fully provide for the care he currently requires. What a wonderfully loving and sweet man!

Parrot Lady is still around and I still keep in touch with her. She is retired and not doing too badly.

CPA (Martin Hampton) died a few months ago (in his mid 60s).

I haven't spoken to Lianne since we were in England in 2005 and tried to find a time to visit which did not happen.

I'm sorry to learn the sad news about Craig. He's been fighting the good fight--let's hope he'll rally.

Would CPA be the same as Harpist? I seem to recall that Harpist was a CPA or in accounting in some way.

Marfla has not answered any of my emails in almost 5 years. She , also, had the MS diagnosis overturned in lieu of supranuclear palsy which is not treatable and progresses more quickly. When I last spoke with her, it looked like she would be leaving work and working from home as driving was becoming a problem even though she now had a power chair and lift van. '

And Agate, I do think Harpist was CPA if my memory serves correctly.

I hate when we drop out like this but am grateful there are those that remember. Thank you Sally for starting this thread.

This from facebook on Martin Hampton's page December 20, 2014:

Heartbroken tonight my first cousin Martin Hampton lost his battle against lung cancer this afternoon. Prayers for his wife Sandra and his son Ryan during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.

I posted an In Memoriam thread last year, which included Martin Hampton/CPA:

Harpist last logged in here in September 2015. He's in Idaho, I think--I looked back at his 4 posts here since this version of BT. He was a fairly frequent poster some years ago. I believe he ran paper mills?

I don't think he'd be Martin Hampton. I found a Martin Hampton on Facebook who had several MS friends, and he seems to have passed away.

I just can't remember his user name but there must have been a CPA here (someone with that user name) and I don't remember.

I do remember Mimi Fraser though. Also janet leigh, dagaz, deconour, Eldon Deakins, elizabeth, HardyHarHar, Heath, Joker, LaCeli, maestro, Mary Casey Darden, Moonwolf, Numbers, Paddington, Richard Long, soulman, stevesjpr, vikee, Viola Player, Wayleaf.

Wonder what's become of them--I don't remember much about most of them but HardyHarHar and Joker posted mainly jokes, I think.

Harpist was from Idaho, Lewiston I believe. And there is a big pulp and paper mill in Lewiston.

I thought those were two different people, but I may be wrong.

Craig had been fighting and apparently on the brink of death for a long time. Remember that he took that Hawaii trip early as a gift to his wife? And that's been a couple of years.

Between our diseases and our ages (us older ones) we always wonder and worry when someone disappears.

I did see Bubblesperson on Facebook. I messaged her asking if it was indeed her and she messaged back. I didn't send a FB Friend request in case she didn't want it. In fact I didn't even raise the possibility. The same with Ian.

Was it Hardyharhar that "hosted" the cyber parties?
