    By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSJAN. 20, 2016, 7:03 A.M.

LOS ANGELES — Jamie-Lynn Sigler has been battling multiple sclerosis for the past 15 years.

"The Sopranos" actress tells People magazine she was diagnosed with the degenerative disease when she was 19 years old, ahead of the show's fourth season.

Sigler says she wasn't emotionally prepared to reveal her condition to the public until now.

The 34-year-old actress says her symptoms have become worse over the past decade. Sigler noted that she can't run or walk for long periods of time without rest.

"The Sopranos" actress portrayed Meadow Soprano throughout the HBO show's six seasons. She has also appeared in stage productions of "Cinderella" and "Beauty and the Beast."

Sigler married baseball player Cutter Dykstra on Saturday in Palm Springs, California. They have a 2-year-old son, Beau.

Love that show! I am sad to hear such a young person has had to deal with it since age 19. She is a great actress.

Wow! I became a huge fan of "The Sopranos" around 2006 or so. I loved the character of Meadow. Jamie did a wonderful job playing her! It's sad she got it so young. It just goes to show disabled actors can be accommodated on major shows. I related to her saying "I have to think about every step" because that is exactly what Cerebral Palsy is like! I think she is brave to reveal her MS. Go Jamie!
