Just a thought about this thread. Since there are a number of sites being watched, it's not always clear in a post just which site is being talked about. Maybe a link or mention of just which site you're referring to?

I've done this myself, I'm sure--assumed that everyone would know but everyone doesn't always.

There are 12 different nests to watch at this site, but I have been supplying the link to specific nests when I post because not all of the nests have been active, so I was trying to simplify access with a direct link to the nest I was referring to. Since these nests are not in the US and everything is in another language this link is most useful. It shows pictures of the type is bird in that nest and can be accessed that way. Since there are 3 different types of owls (tawny owls, barn owls, screech owls) it can get confusing. The pictures helps to know which is which.

The tawny owls have fledged now, but you can watch the recorded films of the fledge.

When I go to a foreign-language Website, Google Chrome asks if I want the page translated. The translations aren't always very good but they're better than nothing.

nuthatch/Joan, I usually wait until my computer is in a good mood to visit the webcams. Some computers have problems showing them but sometimes they'll come through for me, other times no. I keep trying.

Getting a chance to see a baby bird actually emerging from the eggshell was a really exciting experience for me!

              Sadly, you were right, Sally.

I don't think that's unusual for the runt to have a harder time getting his/her share of the food. The nature of the Animal Kingdom.

Just wish someone could clean that nest box out! It's gross!

I don't think the owl would like that. I guess it's not gross to her and she's the one whose opinion matters the most!

Sally, looks like Dottie and Dash's littlest one is suffering the same fate, sadly.

Apparently Dottie had a fight with Dash about him not bringing in enough sustenance for their brood.

It's sad but also not that unusual for large broods to have fatalities when the weather is bad. Nature can be cruel.

A time-lapse video of Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... has a surprise ending that demonstrates what could happen when you leave your progeny unguarded.
“Was hoping to see the eggs hatch but instead this happened...” wrote the person who posted the video to YouTube.
When the nest’s feathered caregiver flew off, a black snake with a head about the size of one of the blue eggs, slithered up and straight to the unguarded morsels. Then, without a moment’s hesitation, it stretched its jaw to wrap around the first of four eggs.

                              YOUTUBE
The hungry snake swallows the first of four eggs after sneaking into the nest.Neither mom or dad returned in time to catch the scaly cradle robber, though the snake did appear to linger around for some time as it digested its meal.
Plenty of viewers on YouTube and Reddit expressed sorrow for the bird after identifying it, by its red chest, as the likely father.
