We eat a lot of Butternut squash through the winter months and I always mash it with maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. Had some for supper tonight in fact.

Sally, try not to worry about the fact that you are sad, but I am praying for more peace, contentment and acceptance for you. I pray for you daily, but I am aware that I would be just as you are. Joan said it right when she said we can't expect to go through what you have and immediately be happy. You just want to be home and you do not need to apologize for that. However, I still believe that time will help.Virginia

Do you have opportunities to go outside, when the weather is nice? Is there a garden, or a patio, or a sunroom? Some sunshine and fresh air might make you feel a little better. While it won't change your circumstances, being outside might be like a sanctuary for you. It gets you out of your room, out of your four walls, and gives you a new environment.
I agree with Joan's and Virginia's sage observations that it's natural for you to be feeling sad. You're experiencing loss, and you're grieving. Give yourself permission to feel your feelings.
Remember your signature ~ "the best way out is always through." You need time to work through your grief and feelings of loss, to adjust and adapt to the changes in your life. Be kind to and patient with yourself. Tears are healing.
And don't feel guilty about sharing your sadness here, or worry that you're bringing others down.
If we were all only here to share the good times, there would be no balance. We're here to share the good, the bad, the ugly, and whatever else we need to share, and to give support to each other during all of those times.
If I hadn't had my dear friends from the Child Neurology forum, I don't know how I would have survived the last 15 years. That's why we're all here. To help each other.
It's a soft place to fall. A place, where you know you have loyal friends, who completely understand what you're going through, because they are going through it too.
Just wrap yourself in the cozy comfort of friendship you have here, and know that you are not alone. You are loved.
Sending healing prayers for you every day ((((((Sally)))))) ~
