I like most things on a Mediterranean Diet. Now if someone would just cook it for me. However, I will add a Doctor said that broccoli is not good if you have a thyroid problem, which I do.

Hooray! That diet is a lot like what I eat though I eat less fish. Lacto-ovo-vegetarians sometimes cheat and have the odd sardine or shrimp.

The last sardine I saw was really odd.

Nuthatch, interesting article. Thanks for posting. I do not use any salt, I get it through processed foods. I have edema problems in my ankles and feet. Now I wish I could eat salt. He was tough on vegetables. He doesn't seem to think we need them, or at least very much. That was in the vegetable part. I began to feel sorry for vegetables when he told what a hard time they have and how they really don't like us. Not sure how much I can change. Wish there was some other way to get iodine.

            Thanks!

They do make iodine supplements. Find out how much you need then shop around.

Here's one example I found. Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...

Vicky, will look into weather I should do this or not. This is something I would like to run by my Doctor. Thanks for posting this info.

Love the look of that salad with tomatoes, red onions, black olives and feta cheese. Just a little lettuce. Uhmmmmm! so good.

Leave out the tomatoes for me please!
and add a blob of sour cream.

Spoken like a true Ohioan, Sally.
My Ohio cousins would not eat tomato sauce on their pasta and
                            their pizza featured cream cheese.

I'm a yankee who grew up around italians and irish.
We all ate southern eye-talian food.

Nuthatch, I'm leery of that article. It reminds me of those anti-meat and anti-milk articles. If we believe all of them, there would be nothing left to eat!
