New brain discovery

Today on Facebook I saw a post about a new discovery (dated 3/21/16 with update 7/13) made of the brain. It's from UVA Today (Univ Virginia).

It reports of newly discovered vessels in the brain which are connected to the immune system.

This was in the news last year too. Stunning, isn't it? It would be like a geography team discovering a new continent.

This probably has to be taken seriously. The article was published in Nature, which is a well respected, peer-reviewed periodical, the researchers had funding from the National Institutes of Health, and the authors report "no competing financial interests."

It surprises me that nobody has ever found this out before but imaging techniques are becoming more and more refined, and maybe this discovery is a real breakthrough.

You would think it would've been noticed in autopsies and surgeries! Maybe it's very subtle. Maybe this is one reason IVIG can help.

Wow! In my school years I was always taught these 2 systems were separate but turns out they are not!
