It's out of stock on Amazon and they don't know when it will be available. I wonder if Sandoz barely manufactures it anymore now that non drowsy drugs are available. You can bet that if it helps MS they will ramp it up and charge a bundle for it though.Comment

Equate Allergy Relief is the same med. I just did some digging, and anyplace carries it. I'm going to get some tomorrow at Food Lion when I get groceries.

I may have muddied things up with post #11 (7/31) in this thread. Tavist ND is loratadine.
Tavist (without the ND after it) is apparently the remedy that has been said to aid in remyelination -- clemastine.
Two different drugs. If you want Tavist, you ask for Tavist or Tavist Allergy or clemastine. If you want Claritin, you can ask for Tavist ND, and you won't be getting clemastine (Tavist). Um, seems to me ANN made the whole thing clear, summing it up very neatly.
If you want the antihistamine that might help with remyelination, ask for Tavist or clemastine. It might make you drowsy but on the other hand it will probably help with any allergy problems you might have--AND it might even remyelinate. The facts aren't really in on that....
If you want an antihistamine that won't make you drowsy but isn't known to help remyelinate, ask for Tavist-ND, also known as loratadine, Alavert, Claritin. Generic name is loratadine.
And who knows? Somebody may find out that Claritin/Alavert/loratadine/TavistND cures MS.
Since I don't enjoy being drowsy, I'm sticking with the loratadine for the time being but I'm going to ask the new neuro about Tavist if the new neuro seems to have time for a question.SPMS diagnosed 1980. It's confusing because Tavist, and Tavist ND are called by different drug names simply because the Tavist ND doesn't make you drowsy. For all I know, the antihistamine I take at night has Tavist in it.
