(NARCOMS) One-third of NARCOMS responders not taking a disease-modifying MS drug

If you don't receive NARCOMS Now, the Fall issue has some interesting data from the regular NARCOMS surveys which many people with MS respond to.

Discussing the Fall 2014 survey, the article states that 6662 people answered the insurance-related questions, and in that article, "Disease-Modifying Therapies and Insurance in NARCOMS," there is this statement (p. 15):

One-third of responders were not taking a DMT or had stopped taking a DMT in the last 12 months.... Those who were not taking a DMT were more likely to be older, unemployed, and male, with lower incomes, longer disease duration, and more severe disability compared to those taking DMTs.
The article goes on (p. 16):

Among responders who did not take DMTs, over 6% reported the only reason to be financial or insurance concerns. Among those taking a DMT, nearly 25% relied on support from drug assistance programs, but responders also reported that their doctors were often able to negotiate insurance coverage of DMTs.

Hm. 6% report money as the factor. I wonder what 94% report.

Most are "personal/physician decisions" which is a bit vague:
