    Has this happened to you?

I was driving home from ocean today. On four occasions within a span of 20 minutes, I had a split second lapse of vision. I was watching the road, and it was as quick as a blink, like a microsecond gap like a picture frame missing in a movie.
There was no missing audio, radio was on, and the music was continuous with no microsecond gap.

Thoughts were, is this a seizure? Is this brain? Optic nerve? Side effect of increased dose of Baclofen started two days ago?

Two evenings ago I was lying down resting, reading and also not reading. A microsecond intrusion of a graph I had seen online popped up and replaced the real world..This happened about ten times in 25 minutes. I wondered if I had drifted asleep but was sure i had not.

    Have you had similar stuff?

I have some really, really weird, far out stuff that happens to me, but I don't think that is one of them.

Sometime, I feel very spaced out and can not think well at all.

Not that weird stuff but other weird stuff.

I might be writing, taking notes, and I won't write clear across the page. I'll write over to the middle of the page, then move on to the next line. This happened only a couple of times but it was strange.

Or I might be outdoors on a sunny day and suddenly all color vision is gone. Wearing dark glasses on bright days seems to have eliminated this problem but it was very odd.

Do you have a good ophthalmologist? Maybe a checkin would be a good idea, just to make sure there isn't some problem that needs tending to.
      SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

I thought I would if it happens again. They can see the optic nerve. You hate to run to a doc each time a bizarre new thing occurs.

Here is my warning...be careful what you say and how you say it. Doctors are legally obligated to report some issues.....I have waded into these waters and had to extricate myself from situations with two over zealous doctors at different times ...

Like many of us, I have visual problems that sometimes flicker for a microsecond...like when you sneeze and your eyes shut ..it is only during the sneeze but can be unsettling if the reason is unclear. My visual oddities have plagued me forever but I am now reading easily again. Go figure!

Perhaps optic neuritis? Might be worth a Google search.

I had one eye that would cross and look at my nose, then a few seconds later, would go back to normal. It only did it while I was driving one time. I just closed that eye until it straightened up again.

It only did it for a while, but now doesn't do it at all. MS can cause the strangest things. Never panic when something happens, and you think you can't live like that. It will probably pass, and never happen again.

Good idea Laz. Hadn't thought of that. Not at all. I am still a rookie in some ways..
