    A computer question

Has anyone installed Chrome? I just uninstalled it because it keeps me from saving a site as an App so I can look at it again later.

I just had another nosebleed, so looked it up online, and found a good information site from Mayo, a dependable reference. Tried to save it and couldn't, and a Chrome message popped up AGAIN. I went directly, and uninstalled it, then saved Mayo like I have always saved sites.

Anyone with insights about Chrome, and what benefit is there, if any?

I have Google Chrome. Is that what you are talking about? I do not use it very often because I like Internet Explorer better, but if I want I can change back and forth between the two. Howie, are you at it again with the computer? Let Howie get a little bored and I think he begins to think about what he can change about his computer.

I installed Google Chrome so I could use it for a work project but I never save websites so I don't know. I usually just email links to myself if I want to look at it again LOL.

You sure know what's going on with poor Howie. I hate boredom. So I've been looking for car shows near me for later on when this LONG Winter ends. It's a cold day here, I can't go out to the garage, so I'm just toying on the computer, but TRYING to be good!

I've been using Google Chrome for years. I put Internet Explorer into operation only if I absolutely have to, and that is rarely.

I believe you're talking about Bookmarks? In the upper right corner of Chrome, you should find a dropdown menu at the icon showing 3 vertical dots. If you hover on those dots, it should say "Customize and control Chrome."

In the dropdown menu, go to Bookmarks, and under Bookmarks, you'll find "Bookmark this page." You just click on it while you're at the page you want to save (the Mayo clinic page on nosebleeds, for instance).

This sounds involved but once you've done it a couple of times, it's really easy.

Funnylegs4, what does it do? It didn't seem to add anything to the way I use the computer.

Agate, I understand what you are talking about, but that seems to add steps. I like things simple because I am simple.

                I use Chrome.

Don't you just click on the star right next to the address line and it brings up your bookmark directory?

I think......therefore I am. Chrome is gone, and I'm use to doing bookmarks the way I'm familiar with. New things scare me. I have hardly any chrome on Pinky. "Chrome won't get you home".

I know the feeling. Here's this message board, and golly gee--here's this blank space I can put a bunch of words in. My very own words, for all the world to see!

You really can't beat message boards. They let you get wordy. A person feels so cramped at places like Facebook or Twitter.

                              As the song says,

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above
                              Don't fence me in
Let me ride through the wide open country that I love
                              Don't fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever but I ask you please
                              Don't fence me in

Just turn me loose, let me straddle my old saddle
                              Underneath the western skies
On my Cayuse, let me wander over yonder
Till I see the mountains rise

I want to ride to the ridge where the west commences
And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses
And I can't look at hovels and I can't stand fences
