MS Awareness Month but maybe only in Ohio

I've been receiving notices about March as MS Awareness Month. According to the MS Society Website, it's mainly in Ohio:

March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month in the State of Ohio, the only state to recognize an entire month. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is asking people to show their support by wearing orange on Monday, March 7. The goal is to Orange Out Ohioto raise awareness about multiple sclerosis, a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that causes unpredictable symptoms, ranging from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. Everyone is encouraged to take pictures wearing their orange apparel and to post those pictures on social media, using the #OrangeOutOhio hashtag.
I'm not sure how Ohioans can orange out Ohio or what that means except that maybe everyone is supposed to wear orange on March 7.

I'm also not sure how this is going to help someone like Sally, for instance, but you never know.

For one thing, it bothers me that MS has a color. And if it has to have a color, ORANGE??!

While it won't hurt anything to wear orange on that day, why are they spending any energy at all on this? What are they doing to organize help for Ohio people who have MS and limited resources?

When I was first diagnosed, I attended a few MS walks here in N.C. I could not, even then, do the walks but I cheered the ones that did. I think they were held in late March. I remember one when the weather was pretty cool.

I stopped because I just couldn't see that they were doing much good. Maybe they were and I just didn't see the good, I don't know.

Fundraising to fight MS is probably good but you have to wonder just where the funds are going when people with MS need so much that they're not getting.
