In an earlier post I mentioned that Dr. Vollmer stated that Ocrevus would be available for SPMS patients. He did state that but I wonder if he meant SPMS patients who still have relapses--because that is what other experts have been saying.

As you know, I am on rituxan. My course has never been easily defined although I am now labeled SPMS. I never have had really bad relapses. Just a steady development/worsening of MS from the beginning. Whatever that means!

Thanks, Linda. It looks as if this drug might be treated the same way some of the other MS drugs have been--it will be prescribed for people with SPMS even if there have been no relapses. These categories (SPMS, RRMS, PPMS, etc.) aren't always very clear-cut.

I have a feeling that anyone with MS who wants to be on Ocrevus will probably be able to get it.

Peg, so glad you are going to give this a try. I hope it really does wonders for you. No one has tried harder than you to find something that helps.

Please keep us informed. It would be nice to know what first and second infusions are like and how you do later. I hope this is the magic bullet that many have been waiting on and it sounds as though it might be.

I have app into drug company for financial piece. It's been 2 weeks or so but I guess they're getting inodated with applications. Awaiting word from them and insurance.

I spoke to doctor's secretary end of last week. She is handling it. I'll give her a call Wednesday.
