An e-mail from the MSAA says that they've located nearly 1,000 people with MS in the area of Texas impacted by hurricane Harvey. If you know anyone in that area, you might want to get this information to them if you can:
More than 300,000 people in Texas could be without power, which is necessary for key disability support items like air conditioning, medication storage, or accessible transportation.The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America has identified almost 1,000 people with MS living in the region who may be impacted by the storm. Someone with MS who is displaced is at risk of running out of their medications, losing mobility equipment, and not having access to their care team. Please alert family and friends living with MS who have been displaced that MSAA has programs that can help them. MSAA can help with finding an MS specialist, accessing patient-assistance programs, or locating emergency services in their area.
