Botox for migraine when MS already impacts swallowing

After years of ignoring multiple doctors pushing me towards botox injections for chronic migraines, I have started to consider it. Unfortunately, the patient information advises against using if you have a history of difficulty swallowing. Ah, hello? That's me, I said. The doctor just shrugged it off saying it is a rare side effect. When asked how many of his patients were MS diagnosed with preexisting problems he evaded quite neatly.

So, I am here to ask if any one has any personal insight to share. Has anyone had the botox injected into the head and neck? Thanks and God bless.

No. Cat has it injected for bladder problem. Maybe she will see this. Nice to see you, though.

    Get second opinion?

Nice that you've returned! You were lumaie at one time here, I think?

Sorry I can't help with your questions but there may be others who can.

No help from me either. I am in the process of deciding on Botox for bladder problems. I am trying everything else first but bladder side effects are different than migraine use side effects.

I second the advice to get a second opinion. I have been dealing with swallowing problems for several years now. I wonder how the Botox might interfere with swallowing.

Let us know what you find out.

Welcome back! I too would like to know what you find out about this. I am considering asking for it for the same reason as Linda, but I also have swallowing problems. Good luck with your search to find the answers.
