Sunshine, within the last 4 months Dr. Paolo Zamboni published a paper that disagreed with his original stand on CCSVI, I have had a few friends that went for that treatment and most of them had to return for another round of CCSVI. If one has to return for a second treatment, to me that means not a cure or a therapy it's a disappointment

A couple of interesting comments on that article. One (from an MD) says:

There will always be snake oil salesmen amongst us and pts who will try anything even unproven. We should always strive to practice via the science that exists and resist all temptations to help people with unproven technology. That is the lesson for us all.

The patient in the article who suspects that the disease leaves us vulnerable is probably stating a very sad truth.

Some of us go in for bee venom, some go for CCSVI procedures, and some (like me) are willing to move thousands of miles from their family and friends just because they think a milder climate would help. We're often desperate.

I am neither for or against this procedure, I know people who have had it done. What bothers me the most is when you see the tears that the procedure can cause when the Patient dosen't see any improvement.
As a friend said to me "Peter even if my leg becomes warmer I will consider it a success" well their leg didn't become warmer and I got watch them cry. But on the other hand I know of success
from a few patients.
