50,000 IU taken once a week. My level was extremely low, needless to say. I am glad she had it checked.

Sounds as if you have a good PA who is addressing your problems. I think it's very important to have a medical professional who takes time with you and actually listens to what you're saying.

Well my PA arranged for the phelophist (spl?) to come to my home to draw my blood, so I could talk to her about a physical therapist and whether our insurance would allow it. Thanks for the suggestion Agate.
My blood pressure is also very high, exercise would certainly help me with that.
Curt just finished up pt for his ankles and it was very helpful. The therapist told him that my neuro shared information about how to help pwms. So they are qualified to help me.
My neuro is so liked and well-known. I am planning to tell him that he is held in high esteem by many in the medical field.
Infact it might be better to ask him about pt. Maybe he could get approval for home pt. from our insurance. I will ask him on Dec. 4th.DAR

Dar, I've had at least 6 "courses" of PT over the years, and all were completely covered. I have United Health Care Medicare Complete but also have the Oregon Basic health plan, which seems to be Medicaid Light, or what Medicare "QMB Beneficiaries" get instead of the more comprehensive form of Medicaid.
I did have to go to the PT place--it was usually twice a week for an hour each time, but I know that some people get PT at home.
The primary care doctor often was the doctor prescribing the PT but a couple of times the neuro did the prescribing.Last edited by agate; 11-20-2018, 11:39 AM.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.
