Thank you all for the kind words and birthday wishes. Didn't go out and do anything special but received lots of birthday phone calls from friends and relatives. My husband surprised me with a beautiful jewelry box he made out of the black locust wood that he's been saving for just the right project. It's beautiful! Had my favorite Mexican food for dinner, chicken enchiladas, and turtle pie for desert. Yum! All and all, a very nice day!

Nuthatch, so glad you had such a nice day. That is the best kind of day-to be able to talk to family and friends.

What a lovely birthday! I'm sure it was wonderful to chat with all of your loved ones. Mexican food followed by chocolate. Perfect!

Glad your birthday was observed in a way you wanted. Hadn't heard of turtle pie. Would this be like it?

Looks similar except mine also had some whipped cream on top and bits of caramel in the filling. Those are pecans and chocolate on top and a chocolate graham cracker type pie crust. Oh so good, but oh so bad!

The whipped cream sounds like a nice addition. Whipped cream is almost always a nice addition, come to think of it.

They had Turtle Cheese Cake at a restaurant I was in this evening. I was tempted to get a slice, but no one else was having desert and I didn't want to hold up the others. But it reminded me of Nuthatch.
