Beth Israel/Deaconess parking at Shapiro garage...98 binned st. Anyone from Boston?

So, tomorrow John goes to cardiologist at Beth Israel/ Deaconess. Last time we went our driver dropped us off on 300 Brookline Ave. (I think)
This time the nurse told me we should get dropped off at the Shapiro garage and that there were elevators in the garage to take us to the 7th floor for the appointment. In the wild hope that someone here knows what I am talking about I woundered if we are left at the 98 Binney street drop off at the Shapiro garage how far we have to walk to get to the elevators.

Maybe someone knows. I have pretty good info. And I hire a limo service to take us so my driver finds the address. It’s just the garage layout I am wondering about.

Thanks. That is helpful to see but I am still trying to figure out where exactly the elevators are in the garage once we get dropped off. It doesn’t show that does it? I am sure all will be well. This is exactly where they told me to go.

Have them drop you at the front door for the Shapiro Building at 98 Binney Street. That is the lobby. On your left (about 20-30 feet) you will find the elevators to the next level lobby. Go up one level and go around the corner to your left to find the main elevators that will take you to the 7th floor (about 30 feet of walking). There should be wheelchairs in both lobbies

There is a Starbucks on the lower lobby, and some sort of snack area on the upper lobby.

I have never parked in the garage, but the enterance seems to be well marked.

If you look at the map on the left, in the middle there is mention of a couple of elevators. Looks as if they're less than 100 feet from the Binney St. entrance (using the legend in the top right).

I've been to that place (applying for a job) but it was years ago. It was huge and complex then and I'm sure is far more huge and complex now. Those big hospitals try to make an effort to help you navigate. A call to their Information Desk might be the best way to find out.

There's nothing quite like personal experience of a place. The maps on the Deaconess/Beth Israel Website are a nightmare to decipher.

I feel so much better with the detailed explanation! I called several times but could not get people to understand that I would not be going into the garage. I use a livery service and the same driver all the time. Since we do not know how long we will be there I hired him for the whole day. So yes, I am spending a fortune but having to figure out any other way would be a nightmare. My driver takes good care of me and that is the luxury I choose to give myself....

Being well cared for is not a luxury. It's something you deserve and need.

My thoughts will be with you tomorrow. I pray that all is going well for John and that the day isn't too tiring for either one of you.

Thank you again Ikoiko for the detailed information. I followed your direction exactly and we got to the 7th floor easily. About an hour later they wanted us to go to the aptly named Farr building. I must have looked stricken as he offered to call for an ambulance. But I called the driver I use As he waits to take me home. So he came back to Binney and drove us to the Farr building. John is still there and I am home. Your directions made this day a lot easier.

I'm so glad you have a driver, who is reliable and takes good care of you. Is John being admitted?

Thank you, ikoiko, for helping Linda and John. These situations are stressful enough without the addition of not knowing where you're going.

Many prayers on the way for you and John, Linda. I hope you'll keep us updated.

So, John is still in the Farr building. They are doing lots of stress tests etc.....no decision on pacemaker yet. John heard them talk about discharging him. So it is 4:00 pm and we use a limo that I would send from western ma to Boston to get him.

We need time to call our driver and arrange things...John is afraid they will simply put him out on the street! I told them to ask if they can help him get an Uber ride but he has not done that yet. It is hard to figure out what is going on...he just got back to his room from a stress test so I doubt they will pack his bags. While I was writing this I thought if my driver can’t get him, and no one helps him get an Uber lift..he could call a cab! I wish he had someone there to help him....he sounds nervous.
