:) I spent my life's savings of $14,000.00 as copays in rehab and for 12 hour a day aides when I came home. I sent all receipts to my insurance carrier Preferred Care Partners and they denied every single one. $6341. rehab and $7395. aides.

I still have difficulty doing many things including showering so I take sponge baths. I am too afraid of another fall. I still can only stand 2 minutes and even then I am pushing to make that.

I applied many times even with a lawyer and before a judge and never got disability. By the time I got to 62 to be able to draw SS I had not worked in 10 years so had no paid in benefits. I had to file on my ex husbands benefits since we were married many years. Because I had my savings I was not eligible for Medicaid. I think I am now eligible but tried on the website and on the phone and got nowhere. They are not helpful at all.

I just keep praying that I can continue like I am now and have no new medical issue. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, it is a shame that your insurance did not at least pay for all of your rehab. Were you in there for more than 3 months?

            Jeanie,
Yours is a terrible story of the problems in health”care” in USA right now.
Might you send your story to your federal congressman and senator (rubio?), they have “aides” that deal with these issues...
Likely not helpful, but, you never know.....

:) I am just barely functioning right now. When I transfer or try to stand I don't feel confident and must keep a seat right under me in case. I need some energy.

I have been enjoying the Christmas tree. I do not look forward to Christmas now as I cannot do all I used to or even half of it.

I know God has a reason for everything and I have to be more willing to have faith in Him. Keep warm everyone. I have the AC on today. Jeanie :)
