Interesting paper on the impact of lung irritation (such as smoking) as breaking down the blood brain barrier and allowing MS to enter the CNS.
The authors do not implicate nicotine as teh bad actor. It is the irritation of the lungs.
Makes me wonder if life long asthma, or other chronic lung irritation diseases are also a risk for worsening mS symptoms.
