Thank you for this information. A 1.3% increase? Wow! Now I can buy that yacht I've been wanting!
So has the cost of living gone down this year due to COVID, which is why we get less for 2021?
Oh, well, beggars can't be choosers, eh? Shaking my head ...

Those who get along on Social Security with no other source of income and have a chronic condition where that's how they live for many years are up a creek because the COLAS don't seem to keep up with the rising costs of just about everything. For many goods and services, as time has passed, we're paying more and getting less for our money.
Internet service comes to mind.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

When I worked for the federal government we got pay adjustments based on the cost of living where we lived. Seattle and Boston would get more than Boise, for instance.
It would be good if SS worked that way.

If billionaires and corporations paid their fair share, things might be more equitable and humane. We work all of our lives, pay our taxes, and when we retire, or become disabled, we are paupers begging for a decent increase each year from a system designed to "serve" us.
Even the name is misleading: Social Security.
Stay the course everyone and pray for change coming soon.
