    Flu season kits?

The other day a huge stack of identical boxes were delivered to this building, addressed to various residents here. They were all from one of the health insurance companies (I think it was HealthNet but can't recall).

I'm pretty sure they contained flu season kits because United Health Care (my Medicare Advantage HMO) is sending me one. It will include a thermometer, some Tamiflu in case I get the flu, and a COVID-19 test.

Has anyone received something like this? I received a notice about it and signed up to receive one. (It's free.) I'd like having a new thermometer and the other items could be useful to.

I'm not sure what this is but the notice states that I'm also getting "immediate doctor access by phone to provide diagnosis and treatment guidance." Surely my regular doctor isn't going to have immediate access. Maybe they have some doctor always available at a certain number.

I didn't get anything like that from United Health Care. Maybe I got something to sign up for it and threw it away without realizing what it was. They are who I have my medicare supplement with.

I very nearly threw mine away too, Virginia. It looked like one more meaningless piece of paper from them. The phone number for questions is 833-321-0383, or you can go to WellAtHome.com.

Agate, my mother got a notice from her insurance, Security Blue (Blue Cross) that she was getting a “care package.” It came yesterday and here is what was in it:

A few pair of disposable gloves
        2 spray bottles of sanitizer
        A pulse oximeter
A fancy thermometer that works with a smart phone.
        Alcohol prep pads
        Sanitizing wipes
        2 identical 85 piece First Aid Kit’s
        50 paper masks
        50 bandaids
        An electric toothbrush
A bottle of hand lotion with aloe

I was amazed but then there was this: a letter thanking her for using her insurance in 2020 and saying they were sending her a $100 gift card in the next few weeks.

Wow Ann, that's a very complete healthcare box. I could use one like that. I'm with Humanna, and doubt they will send a box like that, but you never know.

Well, I guess we know what to ask Santa for this year.
