Suze-Q, I just looked at the Samsung Galaxy S7. It is beautiful, but also expensive. That was the problem with the Air. I want to know if I will enjoy one before putting that kind of money in it.

What do you think of the nicest Kindle Fire Tablet? It is budget friendly and since you say I can read my books on it that helps. If I knew I would enjoy a tablet I wouldn't mind paying for a nice one, but I am not sure that I will until I actually use one.

I talked to my brother this afternoon and asked him what kind his wife has and he says she has an iPad, but seldom uses it. She just uses her iPhone. The only time I might consider watching a movie on a tablet is if I was sick in bed. My TV is in my living room, so it wouldn't make much sense for me to watch anything on a tablet when the TV is right there.

Guess I need to keep asking questions and make my decision after I have all the information I can think of.

Maybe she would like to sell her iPad to you?

IPad does have a “library”, you can download books from it from amazon. You can also download free samples. You can download classics (e.g. Tolstoy, Austen etc etc) for free.
Like the kindle, you can enlarge the print on the books. I like it better than my Kindle. I found the kindle too hard to figure out on my own.

I confess I like paper books the best.

Thanks Suze-Q and Sunshine for putting up with my questions. As it turns out I can't do anything right now anyway. I got a fraud alert on my credit card. They said they would send a new card, but I have not received it. It has only been 3 days so it may not have been enough time. So, I don't have a credit card. I only use one credit card and one debit card. I really keep tabs on my debit card, but of course ordering on line I cannot do that with the credit card.

Sunshine, I found the Kindle so easy to learn to use and even when I upgraded I found everything very easy. You are much more tech savvy than I am. Maybe you are just use to the harder things and have a block when it comes to using something easy.

My SIL is doing very well. Up doing around the house. My brother is not doing so well. He still has a fever and his oxygen level sometimes drops at night. He aches all over and has diarrhea. I hope he will soon make a turn around like her.

I’m so sorry that your brother isn’t doing well. Has he or SIL called his doctor? How low do his SATS drop? Below 90 is a need for O2. COVID is noted for attacking the hearts, so his doctor should be consulted.

I am writing this on my iPad, and even with the keyboard it is tedious. Plus too small and straining my eyes.

John visited today, because the rain knocked out the power for the pond pumps and the entry way light. I don’t understand why they’re connected, but they are. I did everything John did the last time this happened, unplugging, draining water out of the pond outlet container, pushing the reset button. Did not work.

John checked the fuse box, which I had done the first day. They were fine. It was water logged, because we had torrential rain. But, he saw a fuse switch that he wasn’t sure was all the way over, so he turned it off and on again.

Suddenly the TV was rebooting, and I feared my computer had been shut down. It was. If I am lucky, the computer will reboot too, but it’s always a waiting and praying game when it shuts down. Which is why I only put it to sleep.

John felt bad and apologized. I texted him after he got home to tell him that the computer is struggling to return, and he, his wife and daughter are praying for my computer.

My Life is on this computer. Two books still in progress, essays, poems, lyrics. The history of Jim’s and Jonathan’s journeys, Photos, tons of photos.

2020 has been hard for all of us, and for me, it has been a year of loss, my husband, two very close friends,and the aftermath.

John used Jim’s axe to chop the tree roots in the backyard today. The holidays and weather haven’t been conducive to getting estimates from tree trimmers. The roots are heading toward the slab (foundation). I fear tripping over them, when I walk in the yard.

John’s daughter was exposed to COVID before Christmas, so she was tested today and is negative. They have been isolating, with the exception of John, who is an essential worker, for 8 days. She had a quick test, with results in an hour. It cost $100. That is ridiculous! These tests should be free! It’s not our fault that COVID happened.

So John and I were masked and distanced outside. We wore gloves. I baked Simple Mills chocolate chip cookies this afternoon, and I sent him home with a dozen. He, his wife, and daughter are spending the night at home, having BBQ shish ka bobs, and playing board games.

I advised him to increase his Vitamin D3 supplement to at least 2,000 in. He said he will, and he thinks he will be in the second tier of people eligible for vaccination.

So,that’s my story for the end of 2020, the year when everything went haywire. A year of tremendous loss for so many in so many ways. Things can only get better, right? I cling to hope and lean on my faith.

Rose, so glad John, once again, came to the rescue and got the tree roots taken care of. That is a job usually.

My brother can not get into see his PCP because if you are having COVID symptoms they will not take you in the Doctor's office. The emergency rooms are full and really a bad place to go. I just hope for a better tomorrow - well today now.

Howie, didn't even stay up to see the New Year end. All these people will feel good tomorrow with the exception of me. Not fair.

I'm not staying up to see the New Year in either. The neighborhood fireworks will keep me awake though and so in a way I'll be seeing the New Year in.

I forgot about fireworks. I haven't heard a one.

Agate, will you post us a New Year's picture? I found some beautiful ones, but you know me and trying to copy from one area to another.

It is 1:45 here and I must get to bed after I take care of all my personal stuff that I do.
