    (Brain & LIfe) Ping-pong for people with Parkinson's

    This April/May issue of Brain & Life has two articles on Parkinson's disease. This one is recommending ping-pong--"The Perks of Ping-Pong for People with Parkinson's":

    NOTE: The article includes a link to a site where local ping-pong groups can be found but the link will yield an error message. Here is the link that was probably meant:

    There was a similar article in a recent issue of Momentum, the MS Society's quarterly magazine.

      So ping-pong benefits people with MS too, or at least some are finding it helpful. Thanks for calling attention to this, flatcap!

      Maybe the Brain & Life article meant to include a link to the Website mentioned in the Momentum article even though it seems to be only in Colorado:

        I wasn't any good at it, but I used to quite enjoy playing it.
        Yet inside there is this perpetual nagging doubt;
        the feeling we are possessed by a 'subtle lack of togetherness''.

          Same here, Prot, though I haven't played it in many years. I can see where it could be helpful, just because any exercise seems to be helpful, but also because it challenges eye-hand coordination.

            Like most sports, I was never very good at ping-pong. I did think it was fun, but I always had trouble keeping up with others.

            The only sport I was ever much good at was bicycling. I wish I could still do it now. I could use the exercise, but my balance is shot. :(

              Yes, I was OK on bicycles. Plus roller skates. Ice skates? Forget it!

              I actually "lettered" in swimming.
