Issues again?

In the last couple of months, my back at my neck has been aching. Adjusted the pillows, etc and it's still bad enough. It hurts and not in the "I've slept on it wrong" type hurt.

And for the last couple of years, I've waken up with numb arms/hands...thought it was my neuropathy acting up, now I am not so sure.

Back story: I went thru all the non-surgical treatments and ended up with a Laminectomy with spinal fusion of L4/L5/S1 and screws for support 13 March 2006. It's been six years and for the most part I have been fine...til recently. Told my husband as soon as we get thru new babies due (we are gonna be grandparents and an aunt), I am going to see a doctor at the spine center here in town.

Not looking for a diagnosis...that isn't smart to do via a web forum but just maybe some thoughts as to what I can ask/tell the surgeon when I do finally go into see him?

Liz, I would make a list of symptoms and questions you have so when you get an appointment you won't forget anything when talking to your Dr. Be specific about your pain and what parts of your neck and back hurt. Pay attention to your pain and the numbness to see if the pain precedes the numbness. Good luck with your Dr.

Mark, Thanks for reminding me of the details to a successful appointment. I'll have to start a log for my symptoms, time, duration, etc cause I know me, I'll get to the appointment and have a major brain fart! I will say this, most of my doc appointments this past year have been such that I didn't have to do that, physical, lab results, etc.

I did have a major set of labs pulled recently (another reason altogether) but it will give me a list of vitamin values as well since they test so many for me. I have been keeping an eye on both my B12 and my B6 since I know that not enough of the B12 is as bad as too much of the B6 for the nervous system.
