Spinal injurystretching. Much pain and feeling/hearing crunching sounds and neck feels very unstable. Catches when turning it. Scared of driving.

MRI done on cervical. Cant see doctor for three more weeks. What does straightning of the cervical spine with slight reversal in the normal lordosis but no focal malalignment mean? There is benign hemtangioma withing the T2 vertebrae. No other signigicant abnormal bone marrow signal seen.

c2/3 is no focal disc protrusion, herniation, spinal stenosis or nerual foraminal narrowing.

At c3/4 is a posterion disk ostephyte formation which results in mild central spinal canal stenosis and mild right neural foraminal encroachment.

At c 4/5 is a posterior disk osteophyte formation asymmetrically more pronounced to the right than the left which results in mild to moderate central spinal canal stenosis, mild to moderate right neural formanial encroachment and mild left neural foramina encroachment.

at c 5/6 is posterior disk osteophy formation resulting in mild central spinal canal stenosis and mild bilateral neural foramina encroachment.

at c 6/7 is posterior disk osteophyte formation resulting in mild central spinal canal stenosis and mild bilateral neural foramina encroachment.

at c7/Ti is no focal disk protrusion, herniation, spinal stenosis or neural foraminal narrowing.
What does this mean. Do I have problem? It sounds like nothing is really wrong so why all the pain?
I have had neck issues in past but for the last 8 years or longer I have lived with and controlled pain. Now, it is really hitting me hard and my neck feels unstable. Even a glancing touch of my shoulder when passing someone at times wracks me with pain. At times just the jolting of bumbs while riding in a car causes the severe pain, too.

Welcome to the board, you have a lot of what seems to be small issues with your cervical spine. Notice I said seems because each of us are different and a combination of several small issues together can cause severe pain. There are other test your doctor can do to see which of the nerves are causing the pain. I hope your doctor works with you to find what is going on. Severe pain isn't something any of us should live with even though many of us do even with medication and surgery.

First, Mark is correct that there are other tests the doctors can dorder. You could have several small problems that each on its own isn't a problem but when the problems are combined, it's enough to cause you significant problems.

Second, I can relate to the ACL injuries. I've torn miy ACL twice on the same knee and might have done it again . . . Lucky me??? Not looking forward to being told I've got to live with a torn ACL now. I don't know how many times they can replace an ACL.

If I were you I would make a visit to the doc with a whole list of questions. Ask what everything means. I see a whole lot of pain looking at all of that. I too had ACL reconstruction and unfortunately my whole body has never been right since and my bad knee is a constant source of pain. Bad knee can set your whole body out of alignment and make small problems even worse.

Honestly? That your body is a complete wreck and you most likely feel like crap most of the time!

Make sure you have a list of all this when you go see your doctor. And it might help if you prioritize them by what is affecting you the most right now. Because with that long list I can't see getting through that at one appointment. Take them all of course, maybe even make him a copy of his own so he can make notes, and steer you towards things HE thinks are more important. Like the melanoma on your neck, although it's likely pain-free it should still be at the top of the list because it can be life altering and in a BIG way if left too long.

Hi, thanks for replies.

I am not sure were the long list came from above. I typed the first line and then proceeded to give the MRI info. Some of the lines I typed are interspersed in that long list looking thing. Did it automatically pick up things that sounded close and insert them? I have no clue where the list like stuff from Anterior Knee Pain down to and including the Oral Cancer came from. A few of the MRI results are sort of dropped into that list at places. Sorry for all that. The long vertical list is not mine.

I wondered about the list and that is why I focused on the MRI report. I hope your doctor listens to you and does the necessary test to find out which disk are causing most of the trouble. Be sure to ask plenty of questions and press for answers if he doesn't make it clear for you.
