    Braintalk Sold at Auction -- a story from 2008 (or so)

    Maybe the rest of you knew of this, saw information about this, etc.

    But, in trying to find my way back here (which is never easy), I did my normal search for braintalk on Google and the following showed up -- just an FYI sort of deal:

    I didn't see this HBT. Reading it I am thinking it is the other forum that I use to get mixed up with this one. It is a shame the story tells about. hope you had a good New Year and that this year is a good one for you.

      Could be, Mark....that's one problem here, it has always been a bit tough to navigate your way here through the maze of neuro forums out there....

      Of course, anyone with a real brain would bookmark the site....but heck...why should I do that....

      Anyway, since the lengthy comments after the article refer to Lester and MGH, seems connected, but really does not matter, just illustrates an issue overall.

        HBT, I didn't see the end of the article so I think you are right about the Lester and MGH connected to this site. I have bookmarked this but with a few downtimes my bookmark didn't work so I was back to trying to decide on which site it was. There are sure a lot of nuero sites and many look like others so it is hard to navigate to this site. Good picture for your icon.

          That was BT's first domain name after it was moved away from MGH. Just one more "screw you guys" from John Lester (basically since he didn't renew the domain name). Nobody had any idea it was about to expire until it actually expired. After that I guess we all thought that JL would renew the name for BT, but he never did.

          Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

          It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

          Step 1 - log in
          Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
          Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
          Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
          Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

          Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

          Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.
