    thanks Mike!

I was wondering why the reply had changed.

I've given up on how to do things here anymore. brain is like a sieve afterall.

Chris,we seem to be a nation of stupids. a few years ago you could not find a card that said Merry Christmas. maybe Hallmark didn't make enough money that way?now even the talking heads on TV are back to saying Merry Christmas.and even BT got flack for putting it on the new border.suddenly everyone is offended by something it seems.

Houghchrst, I don't think its about leaving Christ out, its about being all inclusive during the period of the year where there are many holidays, Thanksgiving which of course has passed but Christmas and New Years. For many Christians, the very biggest holiday is actually Easter. Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Pancha Ganapati . . . I am sure there are others. I was certainly not offended by "Merry Christmas" but like to be as all inclusive as possible in the days leading up to New Years.

Thank you, TrimTab. In the ten years I've been on this board it has been a place welcoming people from all over the world, people of all beliefs. I hope it will stay that way.

Speaking of "holidays" generally, instead of "Christmas," is a little more welcoming to everyone here, it seems to me.

Well, I like "Merry Christmas" better, but I am aware there are other "holidays" that many may prefer.

If my memory is not totally gone it seems to me we always had " Hanukkah" and the *menorah and of course the *tackytie contest.

BUT, we still had "Merry Christmas"!

ps: speaking of Thanksgiving Day, I can think of a host of reasons why it may insult people.

With BT having members from all around the world with numerous religious beliefs, the change was made to include all holidays for the month of December.

Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

            Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Mike, you do a good job of trying to do what is best for everybody.

I am sure everybody thinks Their religious holiday is THE only one, but I think those thoughts are universal. So, no matter how we feel about our own beliefs we can at least respect other peoples feelings about their beliefs.

              Thats just my opinion.

You are doing a great JOB, Mike. Thank you for caring!! Jo
