I have one comment to add about the vomiting smilies. Given the range of illnesses represented here a well as their treatments, I think there are a fair number of folks for whom vomiting is a real issue, and not a happy one. Sometimes I want the smiley I use to represent my current state, and if I'm feeling nauseous, that one might come in handy. Personally, I would not use it to convey my feeling towards another person. But if I've got the flu and have been puking all night, a little venting about the projectile strength of the upper GI system might not be out of the question. YMMV

Defecation and urination smilies will never be used here, however I was going to include one vomiting smilie because I don't consider it obscene and I think it would be welcomed by many. If folks decide to use it to try to insult others, well I can just block them from using smilies (or other measures)Originally posted by agate View PostDefecation, urination, and vomiting are appearing in lots of smilies, too, but that doesn't mean we should have them here.
Vicky there are 2 frog smilies now
(: frog:) <-- meh not a good one in my opinion, and

Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?
Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end
Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".
It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.
Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen
Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.
Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Dear Mike,
Thanks to you & David for spending so much time on the emoticons. Is that their Offical Name? Is there any chance that there's an Alien among them? I'm feeling like one today due to all the changes in the Weather [hint hint]. Honestly, any and all that are evocative of Pain would also be very helpful. For most of us, that is a huge part of each and every day so little faces which represent a range would likely get used very often. I love the ones in the funny Ebola Blog, but I guess they might be copyrighted.
I do have a question for you: how come some of the smilies have two different names in different sections? Is that a trick question like the ones they hide in psych questionnaires to figure out if the test taker is lying?
I think I noticed the boxing glove guy had various aliases.
"Beaten" & "Boxing". Sorry, but my vision is too smeary today to do more double-checking.
Your tenacity and humor with this project is much appreciated.

I'm sure I can find an alien or two ;) Emoticons smilies ... whatever you want to call them :) I figured we would have some duplicates, once the final selection is made there won't be any dupes :)Originally posted by Beader View PostDear Mike,

So it turns out that planet----smilies is a malware site so it's been added to the word censor. I advise anyone that has that site bookmarked to remove the bookmark and get your system scanned asap.
Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... <--- free scan, has been known to find baddies that trendmicro and avg have missed.Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?

I didn't intend to give people a bum steer about the planetsmilies site as a source for emoticons. Since I'd never used planetsmilies myself, I wasn't aware of its problems.
I'm usually too lazy to go looking for emoticons on other sites. I just use whatever is available on the board.
Someone on another board recommended planetsmilies months ago, and others seemed enthusiastic about it, and so I assumed it was OK.
Wrong. "Never assume anything."SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

So after a bit of research planetsmilies.com comes up clean. The .net version has a "suspicious conditional redirect" which means they send you to a site that has nothing to do with smilies.
Malware scan for planetsmilies.com .... Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...
To view the scan for the .net site visit the url for the .com and replace the .com with .net.Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
