      Thank you.

You folks sure have been busy around here the last few days !

I do believe I made the very first post in this forum the last time around....or was it an incarnation of BT even before the last or the one before that ?

      Ah, how the years pass.

ooh, ooh I am editing this post just to see how it works and/or if it works

*it was just another random thought*

Hmmm, turns out that having one's brain slowly deteriorate isn't as much fun as I'd thought it would be.

A brain is something that works best when the human attached to it is asleep.............or so it seems!

At this point, I'm not sure what a brain is, what it's for, or even if I still have one. But I know that's what we talk about here, after all, we are BrainTalk Communities! Yes?

oh but i know!! i know!!! teacher teacher!!!

              (stands up... eerhhhm...)

A brain is a person who messed up the grade curves for everybody else in school, and was no fun to hang with other than as a good target for teasing. Brains are also useful if you can steal their notebooks to copy their physics homework.

a brain?? ahhh so That is what you need to understand anything that has microsoft on it!!

I hate microsoft it fiddles with my computer more than I do cause I am waiting for it to finish wrecking it. Windows XP is the pits lets see, where can I find a brain??????

Mr. Jo says I can find one if I will let him change my system to Linix . Does anybody else know about Linex ? Mr. Jo uses it on all his systems and keeps nagging for me to let him change mine. I tried to understand ubountu or some such word. I figured I would need 2 BRAINS for the whole dagnabit thing.

Anybody with spare brains, call Jo, ok? NEEDED, BRAINS at least 2.

                    Jo

If only I knew what a computer was...

And If only I had a fully operable brain...

I would have been excited recently to find an official download of Windows 7 ISOs with SP1 pre-installed.

This could be a valuable tool if one were to be performing a repair install on a W7 SP1 system...in fact the only way short of removing the service pack (if at all possible).

I hadn't been this excited since I found a new version of Hiren's Boot CD.

Oh, I know it's no Linux but my tattered mind is not up to mastering an entirely new OS !

                        My Blog

Ok,people don't really blog anymore do they ?

I couldn't get the Android operating system to run on a 32 bit win 7 dual core AMD powered laptop. I was following a tutorial on a web page and using the high-speed bandwidth/throughput at a library but for some reason at the end it couldn't load the image file.

I gave up and deleted/uninstalled all of it. Maybe 3 gigs of stuff.

A couple days later I downloaded an image to produce a "live cd" of android. It seems a little finicky but I finally got it to load and run on a desktop. Then I got bored.

Are computers themselves becoming more boring ?

                        Maybe it's just me.

                          Wandering in Circles

                          Dude,

You are totally losing it !

I mean, posting in this forum is more than a little like wandering around a ghost-town talking to yourself. :ambivalence:

I recall ten years ago there were a few posters here "interested in computers and technology". Oh sure, many came looking for trouble shooting advice but then there were also the ones who took a shot at answering them. And then later there was that period of volunteers around the website...sorta a welcoming committee.

                          Now ?

I'm just wandering around the internet in dusty old circles !

Hi RT, I thought we had lost you. Good to see you posting. Yeah, I remember the "computer helpers", but they never seemed to know any answers. I guess they did the best they could, but when you need help it's nice to have people that know the answers.

Now I'm not computer literite, can't spell too good either, but I try. I had some problems with things here at Brain Talk for awhile, finally sent copies of the 4 pages I went to so Mike could see what my mouth and brain didn't have the know how to do.

He printed out a page full of instructions and I finally got everything back to normal. Of course Mr. Jo stood over my shoulder to make sure I did it right. I guess he still needs to feel needed too. lol

Now Mr. Jo's brain works different from mine. If I can't tell him what is wrong in "computer speak" he has no idea what I'm talking about.

Yes, it does feel kind of creepy when you log on and Nobody else is here. I know cause I have found this to be the case many times lately.

Then I go around and post, like somebody is sitting there ready to talk back to me, but alas, I think I have gone on over the edge and can't get back.

I'm still glad to see you are still here. It's funny, but I Always look at the "Computer Forum"to see if you have posted. You were gone so long I thought you had give up on us.

Membership is down, but I am not ready to throw in the towel yet. I posted my first time in April 1999. Brain Talk has been good to me. It helped me thru some trying times. I was caregiver for my mother-in-law. She had Alzheimer's Disease. She passed on last May. She is better off now.

I've been trying to find a way to help increase our membership. There are 2 different threads concerning Face Book. Some think we need to be more like them. Others think not.

It is my opinion that Brain Talk is a Support forum for those that have Neuro problems. Of course it is to help and encourage those that need encouragement.

Face Book is a "social net work" and I have no interest there, but others may. If everytime someone logged on and 100 relatives start posting to you, well you get the picture. I love my relatives, but don't care to chat with all of them all day and night.

I am a member there thru no fault of mine. Someone signed me up, put my picture there and created a profile for me. I suspect it was one of those 100 relatives, but Face Book will never take a name off their site!!

So, I have no idea where you stand on this issue. I guess it doesn't matter what we think, admin. will do what they please about it.

Brain Talk is a good site and most helpful, but we have to have members to continue. I would hate for it to go away.

So RT, I guess I need to learn more about computers, I could at least talk to you

I'll stop rambling now and see if you come back. I hope you keep comming and maybe others will see the "Computer & Tech. forum is finally taking off again.

Take care and hope to hear from you soon.

                            Jo aka Julia

ps: kick up a little dust, someone may see it. I kick up dust everywhere I go on this site, hoping people will see it.

                              Eeek ! A G-g-g-g-ghost !

                              Thank you Jo aka Julia,

This is my third reply to you. I keep getting logged out and despite the fact that it said it was auto-saving I lose my post and have to start all over. This time I'll copy my post every few lines and see if I can get it through.

When I was posting my wife said, "Who are you posting to ?" and I said, "Oh, no one...I'm just talking to myself."

Imagine my surprise when you responded !

Like you I first came to MGH in 1999. I never posted until 2001 and by then you actually had to register. Those were wild and woolly days around here.

Despite some problems of the "olden days" around here I nostalgically miss the good old days of MGH.

I like the way you are still hangin on around the forums...keeping the dream alive...even if you did kinda startle me...sneekin up on a fellow like that !

                              Best Regards, Julia
