Your Mom should understand that. It wouldn't look too good on her if you had to live the life as a street person, would it?
Surely she will understand if you have a talk with her.
good luck, Jo ((((Phyllis))))
Did you ever know that you're my hero and every thing I would like to be I can fly higher than an eagle
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings
Phyllis do you physically pay your mother or does a certain amount go directly to her. If you pay her directly then simply don't give her as much and tell her you need your medical needs met. What is she going to do? Is she your caretaker or anything? She will have to go to a bunch of trouble to evict you and by that time you could pay her off. Isn't there places that will help you with your medical expenses. Aren't there social service organizations in your area? Call the renter's association in your area. Don't know if that makes any sense but maybe they can give you an idea.
Phyllis, Medicaid doesn't care about you or your amount of rent. They are just concerned that you have enough for your meds. Speaking as if I were 'Mr. Medicaid', you need $___ for your med needs & thats that. I don't care about your other $ needs. It seems your mom would want to help her DD.
Medicaid doesn't give a crap aboutyou. They only allow so much coverage and you and your doctor find a way to make it work. You don't get money from medicaid. Just things that are covered and things that aren't. Sometimes if you get a good doctor who is willing to go to bat for you they can send medical necessity letters to Medicaid to prove a need and only then will they cover it, if they want. Has your doctor tried that? The money is a whole different category. They are separate.
My Dr. has bent over, backwards, sending them letters. They know what it is, so, they don't see it as, a big deal.
I mean, they don't see it like, they would, something, involving, breathing, ya know??
phyllis I had a post about how i wish you could pick your relatives etc. i lost it but since i am back up i did want to tell you i hope you get all this worked out. I simply do not understand unless your mother absolutely needed the money to make it herself, why she would take all that she thinks or someone says you owe her. I am sure you do not live high on the hog or spend for silly stuff. you seem like such a sweet and sensiblee peson. what is it with your mother is all I can think!
But as a mother, maybe she is saving it for an emergency or something. that has to be it seems to me like. because i know it would break my heart to not help in health troubles with either of my kids, yes even son I fuss about. he has diviticulitis and can be brought to his knees in pain. and daughter has her seizures and restless legs and bad back. when they hurt, i hurt for them even if they are stinkers at times.
She must have a plan like I said and just ain't coming clean with you or something. I am hoping it is some reason like that for you anyway. (((HUGS)))
Yes, it is to help out with the house. *But*, my sister whose, on her own, doesn't have to give her anything
and she's not on a fixed budget! It's because, my sister's on her own, so, my mother figures, she isn't
using anything of hers, anymore, so, her paying days are over, since, she did give my mother money,
while, she was here. However, she still makes more than, me, so, I don't think, my mother should really
be taking what, little, I have?? What's your take, on, it???
I was in the same situation as you were yrs. ago. I had to pay rent to my parents, along with paying them for transportation back and forth to work and I had a hard time paying for my seizure meds and monthly blood tests. I had to get medicaid
for a few months but then I moved out and shared an apartment with 4 other people so the rent was really low and I was able to get by a lot easier. Is there any way that you could do this? My prayers are with you and May God Bless You!
