The Decorations - what Happened to MERRY CHRISTMAS?

What happened to Merry Christmas above Happy Holidays?

    Hi Abby,
I'm not seeing any Happy Holidays on the screen I'm looking at. Maybe you're using a different template and it's showing up there.

Anyway, I could try guessing at an answer to your question. A lot of people don't observe Christmas but do like to get in the spirit of the holidays even if they're just observing the winter solstice. There are Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, for instance, and Jehovah's Witnesses don't observe Christmas. And there's Festivus for the rest of us.

So saying "Happy Holidays" includes everyone more definitely than "Merry Christmas."

I was wondering what happened to the whole thing. I came on one day to red and green and Merry Christmas and happy holidays. The next day it disappeared???

I figured someone complained and it was taken down....Bummer!!!!!

Looks as if I missed it completely--and I didn't notice the added Thanksgiving emoticons until after Thanksgiving, either. They're really nice, IMO.

I found a discussion in Forum Feedback:

A new style has been added (see bottom left of the page for choice of styles) called Christmas 2011. Now that I've changed to that style, I see the holiday decorations.

Interesting. Mine is on the bottom left.

It says " HAPPY HOLIDAY's" on my screen, it was Merry Christmas before, :(

Frog42, thanks! Mine is on the bottom left too. I got it wrong. I'll edit my earlier post. No point in confusing people any more than necessary.

I can't call this MS brain fog. I've always had trouble telling left from right.

Wow, this is like walking into a swank department store... or a dollar store.

Is everyone talking about the green and red borders? I didn't see them until I made the change at the bottom of the page.

                      Kind of festive!

If you look at the top of the screen, you should see "Happy Holidays" too.

Yes, it's really neat to have this seasonal change.

Funny I went to sign in one day and it locked up so I tried it again about 1/2 hour later and had the Happy Holidays. I'm with Abby I kinda miss the Merry Christmas but happy holidays is okay too. Some times I think we are way to worried about being politically correct. To each his own. Er I mean to each his/her own.

I liked it better the way it was to begin with:

                            Marry Christmas
                            Happy Holidays

                              That should be....

                              MERRY CHRISTMAS

                              and HAPPY HOLIDAYS

                              Blessings,
