Hi Friends of mine.:o All is good here in Sallyland, except for a bad case of Diaper Rash, I picked up while in the Hospital.. It's getting a bit better, but is difficult to deal with. Aren't I too old for this?

I like the new thank you option....Thank You David and Mike.:o

      Baby Powder

Hi Sal, I use Baby Powder (the type that is corn starch) and it helps a lot especially in the hotter weather. A nurse told me about the powder and she didn't even have MS.

I also like the Thanks button. It's much more meaningful than the Like button on Facebook.

The Iranian NoRuz (new day = New Year) is quickly approaching. Most people are frantically doing spring cleaning and shopping. I don't have the ambition. I did re-arrange our office furniture, but still need to put the things away there.

Last night was ChaharShambe Soori (Wednesday eve before the new year). Traditionally it meant firejumping and firecrackers (only larger and more potent), but the authorities put a clamp on it because it usually gets out of hand. There was a lot of fireworks though.

By the way, the year begins the first day of spring.

I have been thinking about the aspiration comments and since it almost killed me I too worry about it. I find that too big a bite or swallowing liquid too fast will cause me to choke.

I had my knee injected with cortisone my GOOD knee. My other knee is so bad (sports injury a 100 years ago) that the doc told me the only thing was replacement and he could not understand how I was walking on it. Well its been that was since I was 16 I have had some time to get used to it. It is stiff today but walking does not hurt!!

We are gearing up for our annual family vacation. We (my daughter) rent a house on the coast (Oregon that is) for a week and both kids grand kids and SIL go it has been the best vacation we have ever had. And having medical people around makes my wife feel better. The grand kids called me and said "grandpa it is only 20,160 min until vacation. They dont count weekends just school days. I am not sure who is more excited us or them. We stop in Portland to see my nephew in college and my SIL brother also goes to college there.

Part of the reason I tried the injections on my knee is I want to take the G-kids fishing and walk along the beach and not have to have my SIL carry me back home!

Weather has been cloudy and snow/rain last night pretty normal for spring in the Rocky Mountians. The neighbor has been planting onions in our front field. They use a disposable drip tape. I must be cost effective otherwise they would not be doing it. But looking at all the tractors and work to do it I have to wonder. And now with farm diesel running about $3.80 a gallon it is going to be a rough year for farmers.

          Be healthy everybody.

Wanted to add: Farm diesel is for off road use only it is dyed red and if you are caught running it in you truck or car there is a $10,000 fine and they estimate how long you have been doing it and back charge you. It has no road tax just some sales tax. And yes they do check A LOT they will have portable weigh stations that big trucks and all diesel vehicles must stop. I never could figure out why someone wants to save 50 or 60 cents a gallon vs a huge fine.

heard from Craig on FB that he had a spill today and "ruptured" his bicep. No feeling or movement in his arm and emergency surgery scheduled. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

I find my life is taking on new meaning and new inroads to serving people in our area and beyond who are affected by MS. I don't fully understand why now but it seems right and good stuff is happening.

Warm weather here with snowdrops, crocus and daffocils here and it seems so wrong at this time of year but smells so absolutely wonderful!

Speaking of Spring, here it looks like we're going to skip Spring and sashay right into Summer. Well, why not, the flowers bloomed in Winter..

Record highs today...in the 80s this week..Is this global warming? I don't like it.

                Good Sunday Morning ((((All)))).

Move to the Northeast, Sally. We won't be getting 80s anytime soon. It's going to be in the 70s today but then dropping back down to the 60s.

It hit 80 here today. Blue skies, light breezes, flowers blooming and grass starting to come up in green clumps. We should still have patches of snow on the ground!

How right you are, Cherie. It was warmer than expected today and will be in the 80s again on Wed and Thurs. It will get cool again this weekend though.

                        Too Hot!

Today was a record high on this date for Hotlanta with a 85 recorded. I went out for about 10 minutes to wash the pollen off my car and sweated for the first time in years. I hope that is a good sign but that was all I could take of the heat. I'm ready for winter again.

                          Hello, everyone!

I'm in a bit of a hurry to get to an appointment but I wanted to ask a question here before heading out--afraid I'll forget if I wait.

I saw an MS Dream Center mentioned in another thread (Cherie's post in the PML/Tysabri thread) and searched for its Website. It isn't exactly an MS Center but a sort of variant of one, is that right? A person wouldn't go there and expect to find a neurologist but would find help with activities of daily living--?

I was interested to see that it offers massages and haircuts. Those seem like really great ideas to me.

Does anybody besides me have quite a problem getting haircuts?

Hello.. we been busy here, getting spring projects done, temps are in the low 80's weird, for March..

Cattle sale this Friday, we will see if we can afford some, market has not been stable,,

Went to doctor yesterday, he says I am doing fine, and I am, maybe a little cramping, but nothing major,,

we sell the last of dads farmland next month, close the trust ,, "sigh" its been a long year with this, and I still say my sister did a outstanding job, being in charge of everything, she kept her cool, when she could have lost it,, now me, I would have a loaded shotgun.. lmoa,,

so enjoy your weather, if its doable, right now, we are getting some much needed rain,,

                            later then

The first day of spring and we had 2 inches of snow. Now today the sun is shining and it is 67 degrees. Go figure oh well spring time in the Rocky Mountains. We are getting ready for our annual family vacation to the Oregon coast our son is coming down on Friday night and we leave on Sunday morning. Our daughter sets the whole thing up and this year she found a house on the beach she wanted one that is closer to level with the sand as she is afraid that I am going to take a header down the stairs. Grand kids and I go crabbing and dig clams and fish. The kids said that they will weigh an extra 50 lbs after a week of "mom food". My wife likes to cook and has never learned to not fix enough to feed an army anyway. We have an agreement : she does the shopping and cooks and I clean the kitchen and do all the dishes. I do not mind cooking but with the cognitive issues I cant get everything done at the right times and end up salting stuff twice. So it works out better this way. I noticed that this place has WiFi so I will post up dates and pics.

Doing okay MS wise. I have been terribly grumpy I have been keeping my mouth shut as anything anyone says just makes me mad. It must be a MS cognitive thing as I have noticed that it has happen before. So I just keep my mouth shut and my family just sort of ignores my silence. My knee is almost a 100% better after the cortisone injections I am just sorry that I waited so long to have it done. Now that I can walk and straighten my knee my sciatic nerve even feels better. Its a good thing.

                              Be healthy everybody.

The grand kids have been texting me as they figured out how many minutes until vacation so I get updates that say "grandpa it only 26,435 minutes until we leave."

                                Vacation

That trip sounds wonderful, Gary. Could you please send the snow down south as we are having a record breaking heat wave. I am looking forward to winter again and it is just the first day of spring. I guess I'll be hybernating all summer.

Have a wonderful and safe trip. I can't remember what anyone said except for the last one.
