Cherie, thanks for offering the wigs but I already have two of them. I've had them for years but almost never wear them. They're mail order wigs but look better than my hair to me. They're just uncomfortable to wear.

The discomfort is one reason on my con list. My scalp tends to itch when wearing something on my head. My mother had the same problem. She gave away several brand new hats after she got married. So why am I living in Iran???

Parsi, my scalp shows through my hair too. I keep combing the hair in clever ways to cover it up but it doesn't stay where I put it.

:) Hi everyone. We are really frustrated. David called the organ transplant 800 number and was told they had no record of him. The lady said she would check further and call him back. She called and said it was sent on 2/14 and that it did not have a cover sheet so it was returned to the WPB VA here.

David went to the VA to try to see the liver doctor and he said he could not see him today. He then went to the Patient Advocate and they told him who he needed to see so he went to the big wigs offices where the lady was supposed to be. She was in an all day meeting. So he went into the Assistant Director of the VA's office and talked to him. He said he would have the lady call him tomorrow and to do the cover sheet and resubmit his application.

Later he called David and said he had spoken to the lady and she would be contacting him tomorrow. So with the average wait 300 or more days, we have lost 6 weeks and have to start again.

Also the CT scan he had on the 20th we have heard nothing from any doctor on the team about what it showed and if he needs another treatment. Someone should have looked at it by now and called at least. Thanks for being here for me to vent. Thank you for your prayers. Jeanie :)

This must be hard to take, Jeanie. You and David are in my thoughts. I hope that the system will be more flexible in a case like his. It doesn't seem fair that he should be sent back to square one just because of a bureaucratic slipup.

Oh, Jeanie, your husband has reason for being so angry. I can't imagine going back to square one. Don't they realize we are talking about someone's life? Have him call his Congressman or US Senator. I worked for a while at a VA and that got things jumping.

Yes, Jeanie as Ann said definitely call your Senator's office or your Congressman (which ever one you think will work for their people best). I had an occassion where I had to do that and the Senator's office went to work for me right away. It got some action. Try it at least. Some politicians are not as responsive as others but it is worth a try. This is too serious to let any stone go unturned.

You and David are just going through more than you should have to. The diagnosis was bad enough, but with all the goof ups you've had, it just makes the anxiety even worse.

:) Hi everyone. Really depressing news. The head liver doctor called and David's file was reviewed by the National transplant board in Colorado and David's tumors are too big for him to be a candidate for a liver transplant. The Senator's office or the Representative's officesay they have no say over the transplant board. But thanks for that idea.

David's doctor said they will continue doing treatments as appropriate for him and that if in the future the tumors should be decreasing in size he may be submitted again for a transplant. I am very disappointed and I'm sure this scares him even more as having a transplant was kind of a ray of hope.

I am too stressed to concentrate to read the posts right now so I'll just say hello to all. Please keep the prayers going. Thanks. And thanks for being here, it helps to vent. Jeanie :)
