Thanks everyone. For fun, I spent the day at the hospital. I started having seizures a few days ago. Well, after a night of no sleep, I began having them a little too often, I called my sister, and off to the hospital we went.
After a bunch of tests, it turns out I was low on potassium and sodium. My nephew brought me a meal of Chinese, but it was so terrible, I just stuck it in the fridge I should be able to make a meal out of it tomorrow by picking out what's edible.

Howie, I'm glad you went to the doctor. Being low on potassium can be bad news. I'm not sure how much potassium would be in the Chinese food but since I need to watch potassium very carefully, these are foods I try to eat a lot of:
bananas
sweet potatoes or white potatoes
low-sodium V8 juice (it's loaded with potassium)
orange juice
broccoli
dried apricots
acorn squash
anything with whole wheat
There's also a potassium supplement you can take, and I've been taking it for years. Your doctor may have prescribed it for you?
Hope you can put an end to the seizures. The low potassium is a concern but the low sodium might be more of a concern when it comes to seizures. My doctor, or rather a NP. Well, I called her office, and she has had some personal issue come up, and she will be out of the office for what could be out for quite a while, so I called my sister, and she offered to take me to the hospital. So that's how it unfolds.

Howie, I've been taking this prescription for many years, and I'll read what the bottle says:
potassium chloride ER (= extended release) 10 mEq tablet
I take two of these 4 times a day but that is the maximum dose. Your doctor or NP will prescribe whatever dose you need.

I doubt that taking in more sodium would be the answer. Please check with your NP. I believe that reducing fluid intake might help somewhat.

Will take a look at results in the morning. She told me plenty of rest. Guess I can handle that.. So good night.VirginiaComment
