I'm glad you called your sister and went to the hospital. Did the doctor determine that your low potassium and sodium levels were causing the seizures? Did you have an EEG, CT scan, or MRI? Were all your other blood test results okay? I am concerned that you might have diabetes, as seizures can occur with that diagnosis. You need a complete panel to determine your overall health.

Your NP will have to be replaced with another NP, but in the meantime, does your NP work for an MD? If so, that is who you should be seeing and who should be receiving the information from the ER about your test results. You have had some stuff going on here recently, with your fall, seizures, and now your low potassium and sodium levels. Your doctor needs to be involved and examine you thoroughly. Then, I would expect that s/he would order more tests, if you didn't have all of the ones above. You also need a referral to a neurologist.

Michael, Jon, and Jim had issues with low potassium and sodium. Jim had to go to ER and be admitted, because he was so dehydrated and delirious. We always kept Gatorade or Body Armor on hand for electrolyte replacement. Everyone should keep them on hand, because we never know when it might be needed.

Please do not drive until your seizures are controlled. It would be safer for you to rely on your sister and/or nephew for awhile, until you are certain you are stable.

Did you get a COVID test while there to rule in/out that's what you had/have?

Yes, the 5.9% COLA increase from Social Security was the "huge check" I was referring to. Not exactly a huge check but the increase is much much huger than the usual COLA increase.
