    agate ~

Thank you so much for your input. I signed up with Delta Dental via AARP today. I took the plan with the most benefits, because my dental needs are extensive. I know that it won't pay for everything, but any help I can get, I'll be grateful to have.

    Love & Light,

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dentists are often willing to accept payments over time, and one I remember was content to have $5/month coming in from me for a long time, until the bill was paid in full.

Agate, you are the person in the know, so I will ask. When do we get paid for April? I would guess Friday since the 3rd falls on Sunday, but seems I remember they paid on a Saturday one time, and I would hate that. The store would be crowded. Look into your crystal ball, and tell me the future......

According to Social Security, my money will roll in on Friday, April1, and that probably means yours will too but I can't guarantee that. Their rules about who gets what when are fairly involved.

I'm on Social Security too, and in the past, I've always gotten paid the same time you do. I'm going to bet it's Friday like you this time too..

Yes, I'm pretty sure that most of the time it was the same payment date but seem to recall that once it wasn't, for some reason nobody figured out.

Slow time at my house. Hubby has a bad cold and has been quarantining in our spare bedroom for a few days now. I have been staying mostly in our bedroom. I don't have any symptoms yet (crossing my fingers). It was cold and snowy here over the weekend and today it is supposed to get up to 70 degrees. I have opened the doors and windows to get some fresh air in the house. I love when it is sunny and warm outside.

Virginia, I am sorry to read about your brother and the fire. I hope his house gets finished quickly and he is able to recover the data from his business. Thankfully no one was hurt seriously.

Ann, I also hope your mother and MIL are both doing better. It is very rough to take care of elderly parents when they live close by and I imagine it is much, much harder when you live in different states.

Rose, I hope your friend is recovering from covid and doesn't have any lingering effects.

I made French Toast this morning and used almond extract with a little vanilla extract instead of the cinnamon and vanilla that the recipe called for. It was delicious. I like almond flavoring. It made 12 slices so we had leftovers to put in the refrigerator to reheat in the next few days.

Yesterday I put a beef roast in the instant pot and made a pot roast. I usually slow cook the roast but I didn't plan ahead and the roast was frozen. It wasn't as tender and fall apart as it usually is but it was easy to cook. I added Bob Evans mashed potatoes that you just microwave, gravy made from a McCormick's packet, a can of peas and some frozen rolls I heated in the oven. Easy meal and again we have leftovers to use for lunch or dinner this week.

I have to make a grocery run since I am now out of bread and milk. I'm not sure if I will do this today or tomorrow. Usually hubby likes to get out and he makes the short grocery runs but since he is under the weather I will have to do it.

                Enjoy your day today!

Sorry about the colds in your household, Snuggles!

I've been wearing a splint on my left hand for months now, with perhaps 4 more months to go, and usually it's not too much of a bother though I need to remove it every time I need to wash my hands. But the other day the joint just below the affected joint flared up so badly that for a while it was too painful even to wear the splint and the rest of the time, for a couple of days, I couldn't use the left hand at all for anything. I'm so glad that with aspiring and lots of rest the problem has calmed down but it's still all swollen and red. I'm very glad not to have to type with just one hand any more.

I've been going through a jampacked file drawer that has been sitting there like a nightmare waiting to happen for about 30 years. I file letters and cards from friends and family in it, and even though I save only the more important communications, it's still a very huge file. I decided to do myself (and whoever has to go through my belongings eventually) a favor by paring it down. So far I've tossed out several bags full of discarded letters and cards, and the file is looking better already. I've cleared out about a third of it but I still have a lot to do. I found that some heavy-duty file folders I'd been using were in tatters and ordered up a few new ones.

Time to get on with it now though I can't help wishing I could linger for some of the French toast Snuggles made.

                    Snuggles ~

It's nice to see you here again! I'm sorry that your husband has a bad cold. Did you do a COVID home test to rule it out? I hope that you don't get it.

Thank you for your good thoughts for my friend. She got COVID a few months ago, so she has recovered and tests negative. Her primary concern is her elevated blood sugar. We hope that it is temporary, and her blood sugar will be normal with her next blood work.

Your french toast sounds yummy! I haven't made french toast for decades, because I have an intestinal aversion to egg yolks. I suppose I could try with egg whites, but it just wouldn't be the same.

Sending healing prayers for your husband and you ~

Why are you wearing a splint on your left hand? Did you injure it? Forgive me, if you've told us previously, as I've forgotten. Thank goodness, it is better now. Typing with one hand is tedious.

May I suggest wrapping a paper towel soaked in Witch Hazel around the affected area? I haven't played this broken record for awhile, so I just thought I'd put it on the turntable. You might be surprised how much better it feels.

I have a million files like yours to discard, as well as tons of documents to shred. Thankfully, a mobile shredder exists, so when the time comes to shred, I won't have to do it.

Good for you for attacking the emails and files! I always find this kind of activity satisfying, as well as exhausting.

Healing prayers on the way for you ~

Of course, I send healing prayers and positive energy for everyone, and I hope more of you will check in to update us on you and your loved ones.

                    Love & Light,

                    ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Rose, I had a shredder for a while but it seemed a bit dangerous and heavy to handle--so I got rid of it. I'm just tearing the papers up, just one tear per paper, because I can't imagine what problem they would create since they contain no current personal information about anyone, no bank or credit card information, etc. I try to make sure that these paper fragments go out with the regular trash which includes garbage (wrapped), and that should deter anyone from wanting to prowl around in it.

Many of these papers go back to the 1980s and 1990s--ancient history by now.

In October I woke up with a sore finger that wouldn't move right, and the pain was so bad in the first few days that I couldn't do much of anything. I got a splint for it and wore that, and when I went to the doctor some months later, I asked her about it. She said it was a tendon injury that might take up to 9 months to heal. She said I should continue with the splint.

This new pain of a few days ago may be another tendon injury or just an arthritis flareup. My guess is the latter. Next time I see a doctor I'll ask about it if it's still a problem. My hand arthritis problems seem to act up from time to time, and it's just part of aging.

I tried Aspercreme on this latest pain flareup but couldn't notice any improvement. Heat helps somewhat and stepping up the aspirin helps considerably. I'm glad I'm not one of the many people who can't take aspirin.

My fingers have been bent and knobby for years but I've seen far worse arthritic hands on people and am glad mine aren't that bad. But bouts of crippling pain are also part of the picture.
