When I learned that year-round Daylight Saving Time would mean that the sun wouldn't show up until 8 or 9 AM around here in winter, I changed my mind about it. Going to school or to work when it's pitch dark can't be good. Kids waiting for schoolbuses in the early morning darkness--no, thanks.

Thinking about it now, I shouldn't be mad at DST. Without it, I might not have met Jim. Still, I am sure that Jim would agree that it would be safer to have permanent Standard Time.
Science tells us that is true. Common sense tells us that is true. But, Congress doesn't care about science or common sense.
Sigh.

Glad Linda, as a farmer, agrees with us standard time proponents. I remember hearing that farmers wanted daylight saving so they could work longer in the evenings. At the time, I remember thinking there is the same amount of daylight weather it comes in the morning or night.
Do our law makers not realise the effect this would have on their children?Virginia
