Had a nice visit from DD and 4 grands yesterday. Their hands full of TG goodies. Couldn't eat it yesterday (not feeling well) So I'm eating it as we speak, fresh from my MW.. Delishious and yum yum!!

I hope your day was whatever you wanted it to be and you're all rolling yourselves to the bathroom, cause you're too full to walk.

For those of you who are to ill to enjoy, my prayers and hugs.
    Love, Sally

Groan... I remember those days when I was younger. I just couldn't get enough of the turkey dinner, whether it was Thanksgiving or Christmas. Thankfully Alka-Seltzer really did help a bit. I don't miss those days. I still overeat from time to time before I realize I'm full, but not like that.

Sally, I'm glad you had a good day.
And the same for the rest of you.

Thanks Virgina, I am thinking that I know the amount that I am insured for (under insured by a bunch, my fault) and I am going to email them a proposal and see what they say. I am going to explain that I am not able to, due to health, and if they do not want to settle then I am going to turn it over to an attorney. To be honest I really don't know what else to do. It doesn't happen to often but I am at a loss for words.

Had a nice dinner with MIL she found out that the chemo was successful and that they feel that she does not need radiation. About time for some good news around here.

Hi and welcome to my fatigue- I mean drop-dead tiredness. I didn't do that much to earn it but still, it is a fact. Hmmmm.

Anyone else tired enough to be semi- out of commission?

I am going to try the chocolate and caffeine cure.:)

I'm feeling more stressed than a turkey before the holidays, having just gotten off the phone with my mother who is in the hospital with a broken ankle! When I phoned my mother yesterday, to wish her a happy 89th birthday and a happy Thanksgiving, I learned that she had just been picked up off the kitchen floor by my brother, after falling. She hurt her ankle and bounced her head on the floor, but insisted she did not need to go to the hospital . . . it was a holiday after all, and she didn't want to spoil it for everyone else! Long story short, she finally had to admit she needed to go have her ankle checked out this morning and is in the hospital facing surgery and a major recovery period. Mom is one hard headed woman! (Wouldn't ya know, her head checked out fine despite the hard bounce on the floor, thank God!)

Meanwhile, we're hustling to line up care for my 90 year old father who cannot be left alone, while she is in the hospital and rehab.
Getting old sucks, being in the sandwich generation sucks, MS sucks, and right now almost everything sucks! Blah!!!

2012 has been one bad year for quite a few of us on the forum. Hoping for a much better year in 2013 for all.

            Joan

Sorry for the whine, I needed to vent. Now please pass the cheese and crackers.

Vicky, it's miserable to be in the midst of dental work. I hope this will be over soon for you so you can eat normally again.

Joan, I hope your mother will heal up well after her broken ankle.
It's too bad you're the one having to find someone to care for your dad--hope you'll find a solution soon. It's no easy thing to evaluate another person's needs and find the right person who will take care of them.

I'm going to stay up late and wash the blond back into my hair. Maybe it will help my depression lift for a while anyway....You know "Blondes have more fun!"

I am not sure if it would be easier to dye the rest of my hair grey or dye the grey back to black hmmm..........

Hope everyone had a good turkey weekend. It continues to be in the 60's here I have to wonder if winter is saving up to slam us and remind everybody that we don't control the weather. The insurance made an offer which is so low that it is almost a joke. I need to sit down and figure out all the ins and outs. I did look into a lawyer and in this case they will charge a % and get you more but the general consensus is not to bother. They are not going to get you more than your policy affords and after you subtract their fee you "win" but end up with less money than they offered. Sounds like loaded dice to me.

One thing I keep reading is..... keep your cool! As my favorite expression says "when you are up to your neck in alligators it is hard to remember that all you wanted to do is drain the swamp!" May have to git my gun and go gater huntin' Oh no it burned up in the fire. I wonder how hitting it with a stick works?

                    Be healthy everybody.

Hitting the insurance agent with a stick might work better.

I've adopted a friend's kitty for a week, to see if I can handle it. She is a sweet quiet little callico with a limp paw....so we are both gimps..lol.

She's a year old, trained, partialy declawed (laser), indoor cat. Any hints to make it easier for me to do, are welcome.

Is this your first experience with a kitty? Cats pretty much take care of themselves most of the time and prefer it that way.

You can usually make friends fast with a kitty if you gently brush and comb her/him.

You want to keep small objects out of the kitty's way--rubber bands, paper clips, twist-ties, staples. Some kitties eat anything. Some will eat house plants, and quite a few plants are poisonous to them. No toothpaste, no chocolate--also poisonous.

It's extra work but I find that tidying up the litter box at least once a day makes things easier all around.

Maybe you know all this already--if so, I apologize. Hope you enjoy the kitty!
