:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY! I hope you have a wonderful day.

I kept your phone number but right now I have no voice at all. Too many phone calls and graduallly my voice totally quit. I'd call you to say it in person but this has to do.

David's Mother and sisters due here this evening. We will go to the funeral home tomorrow. My neighbors have brought in a lot of food. My sons and their wives were here most of yesterday and helped put stuff back where it belongs.

Today my sons are taking turns being here. I will post info when we know more. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, I am so very sorry for you and that you are having to go through this. It is especially hard after the recent loss of your Mother. Everyone will tell you that it just takes time, but sometime they forget to say that it takes a lot of time. When it's over it's not really over for you for a long time. I am so very glad you were home and at least know how David died. We are certainly here for you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted. I am so grateful that you have your sons and their wives.

Gary, this time I am sure you just had a Birthday about six months ago. Last time I thought you did, but this time it just cannot be a year. I think you are just trying for extra special food and cake. If it works let me know and I might try that. No kidding - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Peg, never heard of the pill form of solumedral, but I guess it sounds better than doing the IV. Quite frankly I would rather not have any of it, but there are times when there is just not much choice for some of us. Please do me a favor and keep your weather. We have been cold the past few days, but nothing like what you are talking about. I don't think my legs would work at all. Poor Sam, while he might be cool this Spring he might also get depressed if you have him cut too short. That happened to my dog one time. They cut her real short rather than the trim we had been getting and she just layed around depressed for days.

Cherie, so sorry about your Dad. He has kept going quite a long time with this, but he may be winding down. I expect that stubborn nature of his that keeps him driving has also helped to keep him alive. Sounds like your Sister is also having a hard time. You didn't say how you broke your sternum, and I wondered if you had a fall. Congratulations on your Episcopal Priest.

Gary, stand your ground with what you want about your house. After all you and Trish are the two that will be living there. I know that it all has been such a pain, but it will be nice when it is finished. Hope you can keep your eye on that goal.

Thanks everybody, my daughter had us over for dinner SIL even shoveled the snow and braved the cold to BBQ for me. Grandkids came over and played on all the heavy equipment and huge dirt piles on our construction site. We watched the Super Bowl game and ate junk food. A great way to celebrate my 21st Birthday.

Gary, are you an Aquarius too? And 21? Will the coincidinks ever stop?

I mentioned to the kids that it was my 21st birthday and my daughter said "um dad you remember how old I am? Im pretty sure that I cant be OLDER than you are." Darn kids don't you hate it when they are right?

Sorry Peg, that you are in a flare. Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon.

All our people who are around New England, New Jersey and possibly parts of New York please take care of yourselves. I think some of you are about to get socked. Sounds like a pretty big snow headed your way.

                        Take care,

We are starting a "blizzard"! Since this morning about 6 or 7 inches of very heavy wet snow with the temps hovering around the freezing mark all day. Parking bans in place till 10 am Sunday throughout the area. David moved the cars to the end of the driveway so we can get out if needed without major shoveling. Plows are out. Looking for 18-24 inches before 1PM tomorrow.

Dad's Dr report went better than expected. What was read on the CT scan as spread of metastesis was not corroborated with the bone scan where the cancer has retreated and some areas of involvement are now clear where they were not 6 months ago. His PSA is continuing to elevate but they explained that was from his catheter and chronic UTI from that. What was read as sclerotic lesions in his vertebrae and pelvis on CT scan were explained by the Oncologist to be scarring where new calcium is filling into where the cancer cells were.

However, mood -wise, it was a very difficult trip with lots of tears shed by me and by my mom as he verbally ripped us apart. This is a real personality change that I started to see develop in July and seems to be progressing. My sister's Rheumatologist has her back on massive doses of prednisone and thinks all of the pain and swelling and blood levels being wonky are due to the fact that both knees and shot and she is putting too much strain on other joints just to move. She's seeing the orthopedist this week and starting PT and waiting for a surgery date to repair or replace the knees.

Gary, I tried calling you during the 8 hour drive home Tuesday and got the answering machine at the house and your cell just rang and rang (I know...you were probably taling and decided to ignore my incoming call.).

Virginia, I broke my sternum trying to get a stuck pusher out of the feeder chute for a juicer....with my Cuisinart hand blender braced against my chest. Pulling the top of the juicer toward me , the pusher would not budge, no matter how hard I pulled until I heard a snap and doubled over the sink seeing stars. A couple of weeks of trouble sleeping, moving , breathing but things are greatly improved.

Be well all. Jeanie...you are daily in our thoughts and prayers. Peg...hope this too shall pass. Canada uses compounded prednisone mixed in liquid at 1200mg dosing to our 1000mg IV dosing. I suspect that is what you are talking about.

Our snowfall will be about half of the projected amount.

                              Phew.

Depositing plowed or shoveled snow on curbcuts shows how deeply caring
