Wow Sally, that's some get-up you got for your darling GGD! She's grown so much already and it seems she was born just yesterday.
Next thing you know, you'll be buying her a car!

nuthatch/Joan, I'm so sorry about your cat. Losing a pet of any age is painful, and it's too bad that Penn had such a short life.

She looks like a very lovable kitty. You gave her a home, and that's a lot more than many kitties get.

The weather has been peculiar to just BAD.

10 years ago a tornado ripped across eastern NY only 20 miles away.
As far from DC as home is I felt that quake whereas family 150 miles
closer did not. Strange times.
Sitting out Sandy on the shore with a trainlike wind going by.
We lost power, phone and a few roof shingles.
Neighbors had trees on houses and automobiles.
I was glad to take a slow ride out of there, backtracking repeatedly.

Strange times.
I remind myself that devastating stuff can happen anywhere.
Yup, Dr. Gary, if you come out with your famiily intact, you are doing ok.

I'm at Mom's in PA w Pizza Guy and my brother's family. Last night Mom and I had kitchen cleanup and the Kitchenaid DW wouldn't start. Nothing and it didn't blow a fuse. This is the third time it has happened and, it is just out of warranty. It was hot and just made us so unhappy until we looked at each other and said, "Oklahoma." Puts things in perspective real quick.

Joan (Nuthatch) I am so sorry about your Penn. He looks so special.

Agate, Good luck w the para-transit at rush hour. I hope it works out and isn't to taxing on you.

Sally, she is a doll baby! Congratulations. You did good.

Yes Renee and all. Eleana is ready for everything and anything,
right from her chair....Just like her great Grandma..

Mo-Kitty...our companion of the past 16 years...crossed the rainbow bridge around 8 tonight. For the last hour of her life, David and I were on the floor next to her holding and saying goodbye then we went outside in the new rain to dig her grave by flashlight and bury her next to our Springers Bessie and Hannah. The house is empty and we are grieving.

I know how you feel with the empty house.

I'm so sorry, Cherie. Losing a pet is difficult but at least you'll know you gave her a good life, which I'm sure she appreciated.

So sorry for your loss, Cherie. I know just how you're feeling right now. Our pets become such a part of us. She lived a good long life and she was lucky to have you and David as her family.

Worrying about my daughter since she called last night. She lives up in the mountains in a very small community where they had a 5.7 earthquake around 9 p.m.
Aftershocks all night for a total of 46 quakes since that first one. Spoke to her a few minutes ago at work. Big day with graduation at the college where she works.
Feeling for all the frightened out-of-town visitors who may never have experienced a quake before. It's a pretty unnerving experience, especially when you're in an unfamiliar place. They will have something to talk about when they go home, for sure.

I spoke with Howie today. They keep moving him around at the rehab place, but I called the central number to find him. He's probably going home any day now and looking forward to seeing his cats and his home again.

Boy, May is a loooong month. Some of it's been good
and a bunch of bad too. I'll be glad when June is bust
-ing out all over....I think? Had a nice weekend. Not
a thing planned for today, just remembering all of my
MIA Loved Ones and missing them.
