Bed bugs and head lice- bad bad bad.

    No heat.
Got up to put on more clothes.

Will call maintenance in the a.m.
They love time and a half pay.
Last time this happened, the dude smashed a heavy ceramic vase and put a hole in the wall.

I want to shower so very much..

OOO, finally bought that tile to replace the decrepit stuff.

      Renee,
      Love "genteel impoverished"!

      Howie,
Totally can relate. Finally stopped Ambien after years because I was not sleeping (or getting restful sleep) and I was losing chunks of time almost every evening. Now taking Halcion for the first time in 25 years and it's working better without the amnesia of Ambien. Also taking L-Tryptophan before bedtime and it helps settle me and promotes an easy transition to sleep.

Heading out tomorrow morning to Upstate NY to my parents. Dad has Oncologist appointment (first one in 4 months) tuesday morning. Scans show that the cancer is advancing to ribs and vertebrae now at least in the bone. Don't have written report yet but also his labs are headed south with PSA really elevating, becoming significantly anemic, glucose is through the roof. He's on 10 mg Prednisone daily for the past 6 months to turn off his adrenals as that is the only source of Testosterone left and the other Androgen deprivation therapies he has been on to this point have only worked for a short while. This one is also no longer working. I should be back here by late tuesday evening but will have driven more than 900 miles solo in the interim. Don't quite know how to best support him at this point. Will just have to listen a lot and talk a little.

I sent a new suit to Becky for Eli. It arrived in the mail today. Here is a photo of him in it. He's our youngest grandchild.Eli's Easter Suit 2014.jpg

Hello all, this is Jeanie Z's grandson posting in her stead,

She'd like to let everyone know that she's been away for a while as she had to visit the hospital and she is now in rehab, recovering her strength. She's doing much better and should be out in a few days, but she would appreciate it if you would pray for a swift recovery for her. She'll resume posting whenever she is able.

          Thank you!

Thanks to Jeanie's grandson for letting people know! I'm so sorry she's been visiting the hospital and rehab but let's hope the visit is short. Get better fast, Jeanie!

When I was just a little girl,
I asked my mother "What will I be?"
Will I be happy, will I be sad ,
Here's what she said to me............

Just trying to lighten the mood some.

It is so beautiful here this morning. 42 degrees and sunny with a projected high of 59. Birds are starting to build their nests in the many houses we have on the shed, garage and fence. Tulips, crocuses and daffodils are poking through the dirt. The Andromeda bush by the front door is in full bloom and smells very like lily of the valley (which is also starting to show foliage).

Dad is not doing well. Much more bone is involved with the cancer but it seems to be staying in the bone rather than moving to other organs and the Oncologist said that seems to be the course of this aggressive Prostate Cancer. He is on the final hormonal treatment available as of yesterday and is getting weaker each time I see or speak with him. And everything needs to be written down and he has to be reminded to read what was written as "no one ever said that!" He is limiting most of his driving to relatively rural low traffic areas and admits if it were not for the fact that the Amish Community there needs rides to the Dr or Grocery, he might be tempted to stay in bed some days. I think my sisters can handle the next trip to the Oncologist IF the labs do not keep rising as they were last week....in other words, if the new med begins to bring the PSA back down again. Mother thinks he should stop chasing expensive therapies at age 86 and focus on quality of life and let nature take its course. But she never says that within his hearing. Every time one of us tries to begin that dialogue with him, we either gets angry and changes the subject or starts talking about something else. Some of you have been there and understand what I say

                          Gary,
Tried to touch base when I was driving back Tuesday on both phone numbers. Left messages for you on both. Sorry I missed you.

:) Hi everyone and thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. I had four bad falls but luckily broke nothing. I spent 4 days in the hospital as I also have an UTI. I am now in rehab at Savannah Court, 2090 N. Congress Ave, WPB,FL I am in room 100B.

The therapist all are excellent and I am finding muscles I had forgotten I had. I am much stronger and on the 15th I have to start a copay, so I am trying to arrange out patient therapy. I am strong enough now but a few more days will help,

My sons and grandson have all been wonderful. My roommate is a 103 year old lady who is sharp as a tack and I want to adopt her. She is so nice and also pretty. The food is good too.

Cherie your father and your family are in my prayers as are all of you.

Take care everyone and I will check in when I can. I just had to go to bank today and stopped her. Jeanie:)
