:) Hi everyone. I went to my doctor and had him write rx's for 3 months. Well the nurse put the Fentanyl pain patch and my sleeping pill on the same Rx with 2 refills. Then she put my thyroid and Lorazepam both on another RX. This also cancelled any refills.

When I go to Walgreen's they deleted the sleeping pill and the Lorazepam as they need a separate RX for each. Now I have to go back and get the RX's re written that they cancelled. Very frustrating. My doctor is about 20 miles away.

I am relieved that he was willing to give me the Fentanyl pain patches as doing the PT is very hard with the severe groin pain. I do not think it is getting any better and it is a 10 or even stronger. Sort of like labor pain when I try to stand on that leg (my weaker one too).

I am doing exercises on my own as no PT has come since my evaluation and the OT never called at all. Most of them sitting. I am getting a little stronger.

Take care everyone. I am glad we have cabana boys to add fun to posts. Jeanie :)

Too bad you're getting caught up in red tape just to get rx's you need, Jeanie. Do the exercises do anything to help the pain?

Sometimes a call to a doctor will get rx refills without a special trip in person but it sounds as if that isn't the way it works for you.

        Jeanie, what a royal pain!!!

Is there any one or more people you would like
me to pound on for you?
        I am my own gang.

        You call it, J.
It's too early in the a.m. for me to be nice.

Hang in there Jeanie. The Doc's Nurse is usually the culprit, trying to save steps.
Snafu of the worst kind. Maybe if you talk nice to Doc's Nurse, she'll straighten it
out with the pharmacy, for you.

I still do my hospital PT and OT everyday. Even though PT and OT came to the house,
They really didn't do anything more than drive me nuts!! With MS, I find that if I don't
do my exercises every day, I lose it and get weaker.

Jeanie it is amazing how the doc's cant keep up with the laws how a script has to be written. Daughter has said that between illegible writing, misspelling and plain old mistakes nurses tend to over see certain doctors so lessen angry patients returning to the office with scripts that cant be filled.

It has been 10 degrees above normal but today the rain and wind returned. I have been working on the yard and garden slowly..................

The ortho doc office has been calling I have not decided to get my knee replaced if they can do it without pain it would be a easy decision. Also I should have had a Colonoscopy about 2 years ago. I don't mind that but hate the prep...... especially since they wont do it as an outpatient due to my reaction to anesthesia no matter what they do I get nausea and then its off to the races. In the past by the next evening I am in complete renal failure.

But its spring and way too nice to be doing medical stuff right?

I didn't mean that about all nurses, Gary, sorry. It just seems that my
Doc's nurse screws up a bunch when ordering scrips for the Doc???

Stress is getting to me. Mom has been in the hospital since Friday with her blood sugar and heart rate highly elevated, A-fib, plus being 90 years old. Having lost my father just 6 months ago, I'm not ready to loose my mother too. Add that on top of trying to finish building our forever house, facing the prospect of moving after 25 years, and simply dealing with life in a wheelchair with MS . . . I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Maybe one of our cabana boys could serve up some margaritas . . . I'll take a double!

Anybody would feel overwhelmed with all that you're facing.

I heard this when I moved from an apartment I'd lived in for 26 years, and I didn't believe it but after quite a long time I can say it has some truth in it: Moving is a nightmare but once it's over, it's over, and you can enjoy your new home.

I hope your mother's health improves. One of my brothers had A-fib and carried on for many years after it was diagnosed though one drug turned out to be bad news and he was put on something else.

:) Hi everyone. I had my first at home PT today. I like the lady and it was a good session. However she only has orders for one more PT tomorrow. I hope they will allow more. It was 94 here today. Jeanie :)

Jeanie, 94-degree weather is stressful. Hope you at least have AC working well.

Recently my son came over with his girl friend for a brief visit and we were playing a board game. I'd played it before a couple of times but needed help with the rules. I kept getting everything wrong and not hearing what they were saying. I may have understood about 20% of the conversation.

First time I'd chatted with anyone in person like that, other than brief exchanges with neighbors, for many months.

Last winter I'd had a routine audiogram at the hearing aid place, and they didn't raise any eyebrows about it--but yesterday I was back there for a checkup and asked to have a copy of it.

I wouldn't have even been there for the checkup if I hadn't had a problem. (Getting there and back is a difficult transportation "challenge.") The hearing aids keep falling out. So they're doing new molds and adding some adjustment so they'll stay in place better. Maybe.

When I got home, I compared the recent audiogram with one done a couple of years ago and found that my hearing is worse. It's now bordering on severe in both ears at all levels.

This hearing loss was first noticed in my late 30s, when other MS symptoms were starting up, and it might be due to a brainstem lesion. Whatever it's due to, it can limit a person.

Jeanie, do I remember you saying you have hearing aids and find them useless?

I often wonder how much good mine are too. But I do keep wearing them for whatever good they're doing. I was told that they can do only so much.

Agate interesting to read about hearing loss. I have brain stem lesions that interfere with autonomic stuff. I would like to blame MS for my hearing loss but a majority of it started well before. When you are younger and will live forever without any problems you never wear safety equipment. I have worked around noise most of my life. Hours spent in boiler rooms (the REAL ones, not call centers!) where now we know the level can be that of a jet taking off. My family is used to "what? huh? Oh I didn't hear what you said"

Yeah if I knew what the result was I would have been more careful.

Speaking of more careful I was doing some yard work and trimming some low hanging branches and ran the hand saw across my right index finger. I guess it will now match my slightly short left thumb. I should buy stock in a band-aide company.

I have been having issues with fatigue lately between waking up at 3 in the morning and wanting to doze all day I am sick of it. I have never tried fatigue meds but I am considering them. My insurance does not cover them.

Our weather is normal spring time in the Rockies. Rainy last few days and today it looks beautiful out side with deep blue skies but windy and its only 42 out. But it is suppose to be in the lower 70's by the end of the week. I have been procrastinating about planting the garden. Good thing too. Our mantra for your garden is May 15th or snow off the butte plus 2 weeks. And yesterday while going to town I noticed there was fresh snow on the Butte. The neighbor has someone (an outside contractor) doing some dirt work in our front field and he is running the tractor in the wrong gear and against the governor. It is driving me crazy. Every bump the engine races and it emits a big cloud of black smoke. No I wont say anything because its not my business. But still.............

And so it goes from our shanty down here on Tobacco Road.

:) Hi everyone. Yes Agate I had a lesion on my central auditory nerve show up in 1987 and I got two hearing aids. As I went into remission everything got too loud.

Now I have old age hearing and use closed caption all the time. Today I just received my new hearing aids I ordered from an ad in Parade. They are called Perfect Choice HD from FirstStreet for Boomers and Beyond. I paid $1276.95 for both including one year replacement guarantee. They do have a website Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...

I just got them about an hour ago and so far so good. I am going to use them daily since there is a 60 day trial period to return them at no charge.

Gary DO NOT trim anything else. Your parts are too valuable. Jeanie :)

:) Hi everyone. I am so sorry to hear Peg broke her hip. Having just gotten out of rehab I imagine Peg has that to look forward to too. Heal quickly you have been in my prayers and Joe too.

I went to bed at 1 AM last night and slept until 1 PM today with about 4 trips to the john. I watched our home movies all evening that my DIL had put on DVD. It was wonderful and in places sad to see my Mother and three of my dead brothers and grandmother when they were all healthy. I miss them all.

My son came yestrday and cut the little wheelies off of my scooters. They drag on my ramps including the one in the van. I think I am going back to bed. It feels so good to lie down. My Fentanyl patch went on last night so I was able to sleep without pain. I have nothing on my calendar for this week so that is great.

                                Take care everyone, Jeanie :)
