I have a woman from a local salon who comes to my house to cut my hair. My husband actually asked the woman at the front desk of the salon if they knew of anyone that would come over and cut my hair, and that's how I found her.
Turns out she does it on her day off for a lot of elderly/home-bound people in the area. I never would have asked. My husband says I need to open my mouth more. I told him "careful what you wish for" :)
I'm going to start making inquiries. I always just assumed they had to stay in their shops for some reason, maybe Board of Health rules.
The day after my last post, Friday the 2nd, I fell and landed hard on my left hip. Symptoms mentioned earlier worsened. Temps, BP, BS all went up. Went to the doc on 5/8 and saw the dentist again that day and had an X-Ray of the hip. Doc thinks the problems are dental. Dentist thinks he fixed the bite of the tooth he crowned which threw off the bite in the entire rest of the right side of my mouth so he had to file down some teeth (rather than building up the crown that shortened the bite and created the problem. I have to admit, that little adjustment has helped and many symptoms are coming back in line.
Agate,
We have lots of folks who go into homes to cut hair around here.
Jeanie,
I've had a love/hate relationship with the woman who does my hair since it came back in after the Cytoxan. It was really curly when it came back then the curls were only on top so she wanted to perm the whole thing to give it an even curl. We did that a couple of times then I decided I wanted to get away from the chemicals and maintenance. So a week ago, I had the old chemo hair and the perm cut off and have a cute pixie cut that has nice body and wave and needs almost no care.
No X-Ray results yet so I am assuming no break although it is still hard to walk or sit or stand or sleep on that side.
:) Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mothers. No for sure plans, but we may go eat about 3 PM.
I went to see Thelma (103 year old friend) in St. Mary's Hospital about 5 yesterday. Her whole room reeked of poop. She said she had been like that all afternoon. She can't push the nurse button hard enough and they are not bothering to check on her very often. She has laid on her back for the three days she has been there and she is only 88 lbs.
They were supposed to send her back to rehab yesterday but they could not arrange transport. I am going to call and see if they have a patient advocate and if so if they can do something.
I miss my Mother today a lot. If you still have your Mother be happy. Please say some prayers for me. Thanks, Jeanie :)
Jeanie, I'm so sorry about your friend and hope there's a patient advocate on the scene as soon as possible. Places are understaffed but leaving her like that is unconscionable.
Joan (nuthatch), maybe your mother is out of rehab now?
renee, you rolled 4.5 miles??? That is so impressive!
Cherie, it's too bad you fell. Good you got the dental problem solved though. Hope the fall won't cause any more problems.
Waving to everyone--including stillstANNding, Peg, Sally, Cat Dancer, Frog, Lazarus, Parsi, Gary and especially those people who might be reading this thread but haven't said anything.
Temps are still up 2-3 degrees at the end of the day over earlier in the day and , with that, vision and walking and bladder and cognition all get worse. Shot days are far more pronounced with this than they ever have been but just in the past month or two and only about every 4 or 5 injections where temp really goes up at the end of the day and I am really achy. I've had to give in and take ibuprofen occasionally which I never had to do in the 2001-2009 time on interferon. Hip still hurts but walking better a week and a half since the fall.
Upper 70s, low humidity, breezy and not a cloud in the sky yesterday and today.
:) Hi everyone. I am truly exhausted. I stayed in bed until after noon today.
Yesterday I went to the Savannah rehab at 3:30 as Thelma was supposed to be transported back there at 4. She did not arrive until after 5. The aid took her to the bathroom and cleaned her all up and put her in a clean bed. Thelma was able to stand and get in the chair. I stayed until after 7 and helped her with dinner. She ate well. She said that was the first orange juice she had had since leaving here.
I will rest easier knowing she can use the call button and that they do answer it. MY DIL still has had nothing go into her stoma bag and is concerned. Andy says he cleaned the bathroom and some of her room but she has a fit if he moves anything. I suggested he get a couple of plastic bins and put stuff in them and she can go through them later when she feels better.
I hope all of you are feeling good. Have a good week. Jeanie :)
Yes you are! thelma and jamie are lucky to have you.
This is the 4th shot day in a row with fevers and achiness. Never happened in the 8 years on Interferon before except very rarely. Now it's becoming routine. I'm hydrating well, bringing med to room temp, taking Advil...This all makes it feel like I have an infection but my PCP says no. Just not feeling peppy or great.
:) Hi everyone. Thanks for the compliments. I spent most of the day in bed and did not leave the house. Cherie I hope you feel better quick. I am in that energyless group too.
Andy took my van and filled it up with gas today. Later when I went to the mailbox I could smell gas. Sure enough it had dripped about a foot wide circle on the carport. I think he over filled it but will check it in the morning. I filled a small box with paper towels and put it under the drip. When I checked again it was dripping less often. I may have to go to the mechanic with it to be sure.
I talked to Andy tonight and Jamie still has not had anything come through to her bag. He was also informed that they have a daily copay of $135.
Today was the 3rd day on my pain patch so had to take Ibuprofen all day. I'm praying the pain goes away and is not a MS thing. I made an appointment for mext week to get a perm. I hope that will look better than it does now.
Tomorrow I will aim for going to the mechanic and to see Thelma. My DIL still wants no visitors or not me anyway. Take care everyone. Jeanie :)
Just a quick hello...I'm still so busy with trying to "get my house in order", going to doctors, working on administration of Joe's estate, etc. I have to meet with an attorney tomorrow to draw up deeds to put house and 2 lots in my name. I still have a UTI after over 2 years of continuous antibiotics and just finished another round. I'll go back for a recheck on Monday with the urologist who wants to do a cysto if I can ever get free of an infection. I am retaining urine and just feel so lousy all the time. I am also having more cognitive issues, balance problems, as well as more pain than ever.
I do come to read here when I have time just to keep up with everybody. You are all in my prayers and hopes for better days.
Blessings,
Gabriella

I am having some problems started yesterday afternoon my toes on both feet tingled and it has moved up to my knees. Not the normal MS stuff (that hurts) it woke me up around 2 am I had a Dr appt today and he is concerned if it goes above the mid thigh I am suppose to go to the ER. Legs feel kinda rubbery and weak, more so than normal. I forgot what it was he was concerned about. He is suppose to call me at quitting time or he will stop on his way home. His words were "More auto immune sh#$." Whatever that means.
And I have gone quite awhile without a crash and burn. I haven't mentioned it to my wife or kids yet. No sense getting everyone worked up for what is probably nothing.
Garden looks good. We went camping for a few days up in Hell's canyon. Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... Daughter, SIL and grandson came up for a couples days caught 35 Crappie had a good time.
Ugh legs are asleep to my knees. Hopefully it is slowing down.
