    Has anyone tried diatomaeous earth?

    :) Hi everyone. I read about this on another MS board and it sounds too good to be true. I am hoping some of you have used it and can weigh in. Thanks, Jeanie :)

      OMG, Jeanie!!! I say Don't use at your own risk!!!! Doesn't Silica
      build in your system and cause Leukemia? Of course, we MSers
      are great at digesting poisons, so why not? (being sarcastic here)

            Believe me, Sally, I have no desire to eat it myself. I just thought Jeanie might be interested. If she buys some I wanted her to get some that won't make her sick.

              Jeanie, I won't usually take any nutrition supplements though I did take activated charcoal for many years. I take vitamins, especially D3 (5,000 IU daily).

              To me diatomaceous earth is stuff I keep around because I use it on outdoor plants sometimes to ward off slugs, earwigs, and other pests. I never heard of anyone using it in food but I understand it's used sometimes in livestock feed.

                I've been gone awhile, miss me? Oh forget it, you didn't even notice!

                My computer died. Had to have a new hard drive put in, then it stopped again. I couldn't get in any sites. But I got it back today, and I've been putting in sites, and arranging apps.

                No computer is the pits. What did I do without it? Started watching the Cooking and Food channels on TV. But don't tell anyone. My reputation can't stand any more tarnishing.

                    Thanks for the birthday greeting, Howie. I'm not a spy! I believe Moderator 7 was referring to the time when the "Thanks" button was mysteriously disappearing. We had an exchange of PMs about that and did some tinkering.

                    Now you know.

                    And there are worse things than watching the food and cooking shows on TV. Maybe you could whip up some tasty new dishes for the enjoyment of people here.

                          Pretty colors Howie? does that mean you are trying the diatomaeous earth??? I would not and probably will not EVER! I really distrust nutritional supplements because there are generally so many combinations that are reported to "boost" the immune system an in MS that is the LAST thing we want to do. Moderating it is OK but it is already overactive in most people. I have tried a couple of things and they always seem to ramp up the MS because of the immune boost. I'm too old to keep recovering from these mistakes. Get your nutrition from good food sources and leave the other stuff to your docs. JMO

                          From Dr. Thrower yesterday:
                          Sam has decided not to go to clinic today or pursue any further treatment. We ask God for strength and peace in the coming days. We thank God for all the blessings of this life including the time we have had with an amazing young man.


                          This morning he reports that Sam is awake for short periods, telling them not to worry, the angels are with him and he is going to a good place and they should not be upset that he is going (paraphrased).

                          I cannot imagine the pain of watching my child deteriorate and leave me through such an illness! This family is going through so much!
