    Wow.
    I am glad someone FINALLY brought this up!

    Immediately after my onset and paraplegia in '96 I became celibate.
    Not my idea.
    Five years later I moved out and on my own. No way was I going to cohabitate
    with someone for the rest of my life who could not demonstrate affection
    in a physical manner- even necking, cuddling with chat were out.

    Crazy me, though, I still get make-me-stupid crushes.
    Like Agate, I am picky.
    I have had a few friends express interest but I am gun shy.

    Never say never.
    I am better off than where I was but I am wasted as a single person.
    Still, I keep my eyes open for Mister 80% right.

      Renee, I had been waiting for your take on the topic. If someone could not take the physical part, and adapt that part of their lives to meet both your needs I think the stress would be too much.

      He probably still loved you, but was unable to deal with it. Some people just don't know how. I wish it could have been different. Forgive me Gary and Howie (I know this does not apply to you two) but I have heard more men can not cope with other people's disabilities than women.

        Virginia, that's why I posted this subject to let everyone tell how this disability has affected this very important aspect of living their life. Thanks to everyone for being so honest. It has made me glad I posted it.
